Well, yeah, there's that, but right now I have a 4.5 mile commute. With the gas savings, I could just buy a garage.

Not to mention the traffic between here and there. NOT friendly in the am or pm commutes. I just need to get this house sold so I can have a better garage lol! We got the plans for the house to put on our 10 acres, the price is a little up there(for our budget) but when all done it will be 100% worth all the trouble and $$. The 10 acres to have fun on will be nice to.

Sweet! Now I have a real serious case of bike envy... Looks like you'll be able to go a bit further with it...

Excellent! I was hoping you'd grab this tag so we'd all get a look at the new wheels.

yep - I did the first oil change before 100 miles (standard dino oil again) and then at 1500.... then followed the regular interval.... amazing how much crap was in the oil at 50 miles.

At least you got the second fastest color....

Good idea. It will be a bit over 100 miles as it was a great afternoon for riding!

I'm odd about early oil changes. I'll change it at zero, again after ~50, again at about 250, then 1000 and then regular intervals. Amazing what you'll find in the early changes. But my motors seem to last, well, I've never had a problem...

I agree. I did the WR at about 150 and again at 500. Totally clean at the second change. I'll do the tiger tomorrow which will be about 120.

you can get the little alloy crush washers at the local parts store.... or ray price has them in stock really cheap. I normally have a bin full of the alloy and the copper ones (oh, Ace hardware seems to carry them as well).

The 800 has an odd recessed oil plug, even when drained, with the crush washer replaced, some oil collects somewhere up in there and may look like an oil leak at first.

Also, when you remove the filter, oil will get everywhere on the belly pan. stuff some rags in there under the filter. You'll see what I mean when you do the change. Annoying setup.

Reminder of the current tag for everyone who doesn't care about oil changes...
