A taste of The Low Country of South Carolina
Greetings FFs around the world.
The following is from 2 days of riding in the Ace Basin and Edisto Island South Carolina USA. March 17 and 18 of 2010. Sorry about the gloomy shots in the Ace Basin. It was 40F, overcast and threatening rain all day. The more sunny shots are from Edisto. ![]() ![]() Cormorants: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'll post more later including some far off gators. Enjoy. ![]()

What a beautiful part of the country! My girlfriend grew up in Beaufort, but we don't get down there enough.
Nice bike too! I've got the yellow version. |

My previous ride was a black F650 single. I love seeing those bikes out and about, thanks.

Great photos! I camp and ride often in the western part of SC, but I have neglected the rest of the state , time to get my butt in gear.

There will be more pix after work today. There will be gators, bottle nosed Dolphins, and a beach with palm, oak and cedar trees extending into the ocean.

Thanks SauS and Thorne.
The long low black lines in the water just to the right of my bike are alligators. Trust me. I didn't know they were there until I scared them under by riding away. ![]() ![]() note the helmet on the seat....The gnats were biting the crap out of me here: ![]() And that's pretty much the end of my day in the Ace Basin. Now on to Edisto Island. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

What a beautiful place. I went to boot camp at Parris Island. I've been to many, many military bases around the world after that. Parris Island by far was the most beautiful. I routinely paid a hefty price for looking around too much while on PT runs out on the Island during boot camp.

![]() I've been through Parris. It is Low Country, spectacular and really close to the place I'm showing here.
