I would recommend since you are in the area to check out Ben Wheeler, TX just west of Edom. Cool little town. A place called Scoups & Scooters is worth seeing. Nice bike collection and cool ice cream for the ride. Also good places to eat, one with a nice outdoor patio. Always see alot of bikes there.

Here are some particulars about the ride to Edom.
The route to Edom from Plano will head out to Quinlan, across Lake Tawakoni and on to Emory. This portion of the ride is mostly 2 lane roads through some nice countryside. From Emory the ride is wide open with high speed sweepers and some fine twistys down through Van and on to the Shed in Edom to eat. This portion is just about 120 miles, with a planned stop in Emory. The return will be through some good country roads through Canton, back toward the Dallas area. The return trip is about 100 miles. Please have a full tank of gas when you leave Plano, and we will fill up in Ben Wheeler for the return. The Plano QT is located on the SE corner of Spring Creek and US 75 Central Xway, in front of Sams. |
