As long as they don't call it "The Wind 750".

this further solidifies the popularity of the DS/adv bike!

and justify their engagement in the Dakar Rally this year, finishing 3rd for the 1st year. I know they used the 450 engine, but that was good marketing, they need a ADV bike to sell now.

Touareg French, Tuareg English?

Aprilia Tuareg.

With reference to the intellectual property laws and copyright clauses so many people are keen to allude to, one would assume that those making reference to same, can actually spell...?

Tuareg = geographical name perculiar to the North African/Sahara region. Cannot be copyrighted as other examples (Tahoe, Sierra, Colorado etc.) have already been made.

Touareg = marketing dept. adaptation of same, presumeably protected under copyright/trademark laws by VW as the name of their premier SUV model.

Aprilia; have before... and it would seem once again... decided to name their new model Tuareg... what's the problem?

Isn't Tuareg simply the english rendering of the French word Touareg?

In fact Tuareg or Touareg is the plural of Targui:
One Targui warrior, the Touareg army!

I don't care about the name, I just think it looks like a potentially spiffy bike that we won't get in the People's Republic.

The weight doesn't seem unreasonable but only getting 25mpg is pretty horrible.

That was one ugly bitch. The first rendering was allright, but tbh: Have seen cool concepts of upcoming bikes before but it has often ended up in lard assed street bikes for people who want to look like they are adventurous but never go further then the shopping mall.

Hope Aprilia proves me wrong!

Isn't that exhaust pipe or header crying out for a higher replacement price from the makers? They sure could boost their bottom line easily with that design.

Come on, concept drawing are always either bitchin' looking or stupid looking. The final product is usually a lot different than the artists rendering. I hope!

Hope they are aiming for this look:

They already have the blueprints for it, and it looks like the rendering in the first post. =)
