For Sale sign it is, then.

After a sucessful sale, It was down to the local dealer to pick up something equally fun, yet not as fast. Been wanting an in town errand runner anyway.

After getting all the nicities out of the way, and signing the appropriate paperwork, I am now the proud owner of an 09 Zuma 125.

I can't get over how much fun this thing is!!

Sorry, no pics to post.

Just wanted to say hello, and all that stuff...
welcome, I still wear most of my gear even when riding the scoot, maybe not down to the store 1/2 mile but anything more and i am geared up.
The ground don't care what you flew off, at 30mph+ the ground is going to hurt and the jeans are going to tear apart juat as quickly.

ok, dad mode off. great scoot and have fun, lets see some damn pictures

Hmmmmm, if I can get up early enough on Saturday, I can maybe sneak in a couple hour ride before the family wakes up, and the chores begin.

Maybe then I can get some pics of some areas I have been wanting to explore.

That is, if I actually stop long enough to take pictures....

That's the problem I had on my first big ride on my first bike.

Had the destination at around 400 miles from home, took 3 pictures,
and one on the way back, but I had over 40 of the bike AT the place
I was staying.

It was like OMGlookATthisCURVEomgANOTHERONEshiftgearOMG.. and
I was there

Can you tell I live at a place where I'm surrounded with 50+ miles of
straight roads in each direction?

You can configure the forum options so it DOES subscribe automatically
when you reply.

It's got nothing to do with computers.. it's in plain English in your
Control Panel on the forum, and it's prettymuch the same on most
forums out there.

Click on the orange 'Control Panel' link that you see at top left of the
screen, then 'Edit Options' from the menu that'll open on the left of
your screen.

There's a 'Messaging & Notification' section there that you'll configure
to your liking. You might wanna go through all of the options from the
menu from top to bottom and configure some other stuff when you
bump into it.

Makes forum browsing a lot easier.

so tires!

been blasting along with my stock rubber, bit squirrely in the corners unless you really push it in. which can be interesting.

much like knobbies on a GS I guess.
So what have folks been using and like
heading over to the other forums too, will report back.

looking for something fairly long lasting but sticky and loads of "high" speed (45-50 ) cornering stick along with general hooligan type riding

Stock tires suck!!

At least that is my opinion as of 09/02/2010 at approximately 8:00 pm, when I had an unscheduled meeting with the asphalt.

Ninety degree left hander at the bottom of a fairly steep hill. I had slowed down to approximately 30, maybe less.

Lean it in, back tire steps out. I fight it, almost able to recover, then it starts to tankslap (can it really be called a tankslapper on a scooter?)

Down I go.

I know this drill.

Roll with it for all you are worth, minimize the road rash.

I actually walked away relatively unscathed. Long, but shallow abrasions on the left calf to mid thigh. Couple small cuts on the knee. Small scratch on the right forearm. Nice Goose Egg on the Left wrist.

The scoot suffered an amputation of the left hand guard, and other minor scuffs to the front fairing, and belt cover thingy. Picked up a little gravel.

I said all that to say that I agree with you. The stock tires are funny until you push them, then seem to grip well until the center stand levers them off the road.

I will be replacing them with either the Michelin Boppers, or the Pilot Sport SC (I think that is the right name for them...)

I also think that the main reason I went down was because there was oil or something on the road. I was not leaned over anywhere near far enough for hard parts to touch down.

Funny. 16,000 miles of pushing my luck on an SV650S, all is well. 610 miles on a Zuma, and it goes down when I'm cruising....

I got plenty left on the stock, but for the lower cost it is worth changing thing s a bit and seeing if the smiles per mile go up

so far the michelin pilots look like a good one to choose

Reconstructed that sucks, heal up quick!

I'm ok, not even a limp. But, to add insult to injury, I got to the house and noticed I had picked up a nail.

Another reason to get new tires...
