Say hi to my Grandpa. He is buried in the Parkdale cemetery.

Myself and RallyDRZ are in!! Saturday and Sunday! Not sure what is meant by Advanced trail skills? I have riden (Granted Slowly) the B & C loops at Jones Creek and many excursions off of Forest service roads. Can you ride the "B" loop and get a feel for the "A" loop and switch from saturday to sunday? I don't want to get over my head and slow anyone down. This is my first sanctioned Dual sport ride.

"Interesting"?

How will you be setting the course oldmonkeybut, with plastic ribbon and a rock?

I see Eastern Oregon on your profile. Would that be rolling wheat fields around Pendleton, Blue Mountains, or scattered sagebrush across the desert (Burns, et al) part of Eastern Oregon?

Some basic info on the event please

It looks like I, and a couple of buddies will be doing this. We have done a few enduros, but never a dualsport event. I have looked over this thread and the blackdog flyer, but can't seem to find the answers to some basic questions.

1. How long is the course? Where does it go? Map? Gas, food along the route?

2. Is the course the same for day 1 and day 2?

3. Is it marked at all, or just use the roll chart?

4. What does it cost?

5. Do I need to renew AMA membership?

6. When does it start and end? Are you assigned a start time, or just go when you want?

7. What maps should I have in case I get off course/lost?

I guess that's it for now. Maybe some of the answers are allready posted, but I didn't see 'em

I can tell from all the posts that this has been a great time for everyone in the past. I am looking forward to it.

Thanks,
Jeff

Gas & Food is planned well, so you don't do without.

2. Is the course the same for day 1 and day 2?
Different Course each day

3. Is it marked at all, or just use the roll chart?
No Marks, just roll chart & GPS

7. What maps should I have in case I get off course/lost?
Ranger District Maps are best. Hood River and Barlow Ranger Districts. There is a Ranger Station in the community of Mt. Hood, but high demand that weekend means you should get them ahead of time.

I guess that's it for now. Maybe some of the answers are allready posted, but I didn't see 'em

See my limited answers above. This'll be my first Black Dog so it'll be new to me too, even though it's run basically in my back yard every year. BTW, I'm a Jeff also, with a 990 also. See you there!

The tentative plan is for me to take a week and a half off from work. Trailer both bikes up to Hood River on May 29. Stay and ride with my buddy who moved there a couple of years ago. We might take off on the big bikes and do a few days touring out toward Idaho, or? (do you have any suggestions for a good 3 day tour)? Then come back to the hood and take the 450s on the Black Dog "A" loops.

I do have suggestions for many 1 day loopers around here, If'n yur so inclined to stick around. Had my bike 2-1/2 years now. I know LOTS of 1 day loops for KaTy M & me. I've called in sick plenty of times from plenty of areas 30-80 miles from home .

Your buddy lives here? Who?
The suns up bigtime now, gotta go to work on the chicken house. I'll check back in here. I'd love to ride with, when you get here.
