Utah Cascade Springs

Just did some routine maintenance on the big Katoon.

While I had it apart I installed the a Slavens skip plate, the KTM large windscreen, and a CJ Designs quick oil release.

So I decided to go find some dirt and see if it all would fall apart.

On the way I took a quick pic at the Old Mill in Salt Lake as I was passing by it.

Then I went up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Brighton.

From Brighton I went over Guardsman and down into Midway. They are paving way to many of these roads up here.

I took a right in Midway and found Mill Flat Trail system. The state publishes a good map that you can download here:
http://static.stateparks.utah.gov/maps/Mill-Canyon.pdf

There are about 75 miles of various difficulty trails that go up and down the Wasatch mountains.

The view from the start of the trail that ends up in Cascade Springs.

Lots of wildfowers were in bloom.

Hi up in the quaking aspens.

The sticker makes it that much faster.

Deer Creek Reservoir in the distance

Fancy bugs along the way

Wild Monkshood growing at Cascade Springs.

After the Springs it was time to head home over the Alpine loop.

Here's a pic of the CJ Designs quick release oil drain.

Hope you enjoyed the ride.

Fun riding up here. We're getting due for a rain again to charge the flowers and damp the dust. Have you been over Pole Line Pass and down to the North Fork of American Fork Canyon? It's a great alternative to going down to the Alpine Loop. The only problem is getting distracted by all the options down there. The ride from Tibble Reservoir to Silver Lake is a must. I may not get much farther afield this season with so much to explore this close.
