I've noticed a lot of ADVentures with this problemo.
It'd drive me Crazy cause it looks like the Sub-Frame is bent

Doing the oil change and water pump R&R. Very few miles on the bike, but has the old style seal and shaft (brown seal, shiny shaft), so figured I'd do it now. Ordered a light weight torque wrench tonight as I really need one.

Holy crap. Only 3600 miles on this beast and this old style shaft was well worn (and starting to leak), although the pic doesn't really capture it. Geeszch. Hope the new style holds up better.

Coast Road. It starts at Bixby Bridge and goes about 20 miles south to just north of Big Sur. Not sure if there's any specified camping areas but I don't know why you couldn't just pitch a tent. There are certainly some nice views.

I would release all the joints in the pipes from heads up to mufflers and try to get these level and tighten in that position everything back. if doesn't help-means youll need to put a bend in the right side piping to provide a better inlet angle to the muffler....I hope it helps.

I got her going and took her for a ride.

I've serviced her at 10,000km, raised the needles, checked the valve clearances (which weren't done at the first service - before I bought her), re-torqued the heads, "done" the SAS and found the damn problem with the sidestand switch. The sensor button wasn't sliding over the Hall Effect switch, so that was an easy fix once I'd spotted the issue.

I also fitted a couple of 24w LED spots to the inner Barkbuster mounts. Letting my son take her for a spin and observing, I ended up doing a bit of adjustment via the dimmer and she's great now. The LEDs were too bright with the headlight off / on low beam at first - bright enough for people to whinge if I'd left them where they were. They flick to full power on high beam.

I just missed on getting her going on Sunday morning for a ride through the Blue Mountains and had to take the old F650 instead.

I stared at it in the garage as I have done for the last 3 months wondering when the snow and ice will be gone

Closure

As many of you know I had my pride and joy stolen in 2009 (jeez where does the time go? ) I had a personal plate on it and finally after 13 months I can now put my plate back on my current ride

So this is it, finally closure on the old girl whom I spent many long days with. To the old Katoom

changed engine

changed the engine of my 950S for one from a 990 smt. Kept the carbs of the 950.
And fitted a radial master brake cilinder.
Next week i'm going to fit a 2 in-to 1 GPR exhaust.

Went to fit the new plate, but got side tracked and cleaned up a rear wheel I bought, 3 hours it took me! I wish I'd have taken some pics now as the wheel was covered in thick grease as well as the sprocket carrier, hub and sprocket.

Shiny clean now though, I just need to spoon a 908 on it now and then I can just switch wheels instead of switching tyres

Rox Risers are some tall 2"ers. This 990 Adventure has the extra cable length needed for that kind of a jacking???

I'm 6'5" Gonna Buy a 990 Adv and am curious how close I can get to standing up straight on the pegs like all the normal people can!

I've read most of the 950 battery threads

What are you guys suggesting for a 950 SE Battery ??

Im leaning towards the Shorai in Cyborg's thread

More Amps & LIGHTER [real close to oem size too]

I want the longest lasting reguardless of weight

I've got the Deka #ETX14 [sealed] at my work with 220cca's but it Weighs 11 LBS
