It was your Moab trip that inspired me to do the work and get ready for my own trip down there at the end of May. I didn't change the thermostat, and will see if just having the second fan and the tanks insulated is enough. I still may change the Clutch slave to an Oberon before the trip. Other than that I think the 990 and me are ready to roll.

I bought it at a performance car shop in a 24" X 48" roll. The place was called Mopac on 16th ave.

Nice clean install. Who makes the insulation you have used?

Ram mount on crash bar did not work for me. Too much shack. Less on the handle bar. I got the best result when I attached it to my helmet.

Insulated the engine side of the tanks to help keep the the fuel cooler and maybe save the pump.

Installed the WELD 86 skid plate and side stand bracket.

Put the bike back together and installed a Ram Mount for a Go-Pro camera on the front Crash bar.

Does the drain plug on this have a magnet like the stock?

Try here: http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/pr...ct-cloth/75/21

or here: http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/pr...ield-mat/76/35

The Ram mount is just for a different pespective, I to have a helmet mount for the Go-Pro.

Nope. I don't think it's needed between all the screens, filter and the other magnet in the drain bolt in the case.

Yeah, I wonder if this might act like a catch tank for debris; it's at the lowest point of the tank and will see little if any real oil movement once the hose is full. Seems like any heavy parts might be inclined to sink to the lowest part of the hose and stay there with no magent needed, but I'm speculating here...

I think a stock bike with a second fan would do just fine out there. I tend to go by the theory of go on and overdue it.

In the last week-
Oil gauge installed, high fender on, sidestand plate on, CJ's oil hose on, valves adjusted (only 2 out of spec)

Today was carb installation day!
What's wrong with this picture?

Took me an hour and a half to get it that way. Twenty minutes to fix.
Pre filter and new air filter in.

Tomorrow time to attack the water pump. Would like to do a good flushing but it is supposed to snow.
