Nice pics - 400 is a full day, and +1 on the Scorpion comments. After seeing how well the TKC80"s behave on the street, I'm not sure what reason there would be to put up with the non-performance of the Scorps on the dirt. Constant pucker.

Put on a set of BDCW foot pegs. Much better now.

Finally got sick of the vibes from my worn out TKC...time for a new K60....the rim strip is the original from '08 so
that has got to go, time to try the Motion Pro rim tape....its a thick adhesive flexible plastic...time will tell....

I decided to adjust the suspension from whatever the shop had it set to the sport settings. Why didn't I do this earlier? Much better handling. Damn near as good as the Ulysses was on the street, and that is truly saying something.

Yeah, I don't get why you guys are gearing DOWN.

Must be an ADV dork thing. LOL!

I just put a 17 tooth up front with the 42 tooth rear sprocket.

I like it! Brings RPMs down to sane levels at highway speeds.

Puts the "Super" in the enduro!
I love it, and it cruises at 85 comfortably.

Climbing cliffs.

Put some of the half painted parts back on to get rid of stabbing ugly bolts left hanging out by previous owner, cleaned up license plate mount, tucked in sime wiring, loomed a couple messes, planned the HDB parts order, and started at the bike while starting to plan Alaska in 2013.

I have the 17/42 now and the thing can't get off a curb without slipping the clutch. Its also bogging down at highway speeds at altitude, have to downshift.

I run 17/42 also. Cruises at 85 nicely but does require a lot of clutch work off road.

On another note....I rode the 990 back to work after lunch today in 107* heat with a Motocop mad dogging me all the way. Thought he was going to pinch me for something. Really sucks doing the speed limit when it's that hot outside. Barely get enough wind to blow through my jacket.

The problem I ran into a few weeks ago was that on a steep incline at 13,000 feet the bike would just bog and die with the 17/42 set up. Then when cruising cross county anything below 85 mph in 6th was too low of an rpm to even roll the throttle without lugging it a bit.

I just put on the 16/45 a few minutes ago and took a test ride. Doesn't feel too steep at all, feels like it should of just come stock this way. Pulls much smoother at any rpm.

....also put some speed holes in my sprocket cover to let some of the dirt out that was obviously building up in there. My sprocket nut was also finger tight so it will be easier to keep an eye on it this way.
