I said I wouldn't... but I did anyway.

Got some new sneakers for my scoot. I opted to go with the Heidenau K60 (non Scout) front and the K 60 Scout on the rear. I had good luck with my past two Mefo Super Explorers on the rear, so I thought I'd try the Heidenau. However, I didn't have much luck with the Mefo Explorer front tire I tried last year. Instead I've been running with the Dunlop 606 in the front and I really like its performance off road, but the wear funny and rather quickly on the road.

I have a big trip coming up later this month, which may have a lot of road miles, so I thought I'd skip putting the knobby on it and go for a road tire. I found the (old?) K60 (non scouts) at CJ's site so I thought I'd try that for a change. Presumably it wouldn't be any worse than the Mefo front, but the tread is (supposedly a little deeper/more aggressive) than the K60 Scout front - not sure my but what the heck.

The tires came today and I'll wait putting them on for another week or so (before my departure). Now to finish planning my trip......

Yeah, I gotta adjust mine one of these days as well. The days are so long right now that by the time it gets dark it is time to hit the sack and not be out playing around with headlight alignment.

What didn't you like about the Mefo front?

Bought mine. Get to pick this beauty up in a week and a half. Can't hardly sit still.

I sprayed contact cleaner on the windshield to help clean off some decal residue.

Never owned a bike with a windshield before ... but that was still a pretty bone head move.

Just spray it with black spray paint next and problem solved

I first thought about spray painting it black ... and this is also a good idea ... but I think I will use this as an excuse to buy one of those snazy carbon fibre replacements

So, for the first valve check under warranty, and because I am under a time crunch for an upcoming trip, I hauled the bike an hour to "my" KTM dealer today....dropped it off and headed home.

Halfway home, I hang up the phone and look at my 8-year old daughter, who says:

"What kind of a KTM dealer doesn't have sparkplugs?!? Didn't you make this appointment two weeks ago?
I thought they were supposed to be the KTM shop!"

...thus proving herself smarter than the KTM shop...

Nice!!! Some very nice mods too. I just put a 1000 miles on mine over the weekend with a big chunk of dirt and love it more all the time.

Fixing up the KTM and got the new graphics from Crispy Design on tonight.
