My 990 received her very first farkle last night...SW Motech crash bars. I performed the set screw mod at the same time, so easy (relatively) on and off.

Stood there and stared at it for a few minutes. Made the decision to find and install a Super Duke motor in its place. So I will be parting out the stock 950 Adventure motor in the next month or so.

Removed tank in pre for Safari install
Dr Bean's the fuel pump
Drained oil (again) due to WP failure
Pulled WP, in prep for WP upgrade
Pulled radiator, to repair small crack
Changed air filter
Adjusted chain
Test fit spark arresters in Akra's

Tomorrow:
Install Powerlet/Ram mount for GPS
Install new CJ WP upgrade
Get radiator fixed

I can't tell for sure from this picture but your bars look to be really rotated forward. This would definately cause a problem with clearance to the screen. You shouldn't have to tweek the guards very much. They fit right up depending on your bar rotation.

The PO had them rotated back. prior to me messing with them the stops were still a half inch from hitting the lock bolts under the steering head. i bent them at least 1" on reinstall. i do like my bars a little forward than most. I looked up some other installs and they looked like they needed bending also. mine sprung out from the clamp when i undid the bolts. couldn't even get the bolts started when i was trying to put them back on. till i bent them. solid product tho.

I've got 2 KTM dealers within 10 minutes of me,,,, they don't stock, spark plugs, air filters, brake pads or oil filters for the 950/990.

It's always the same,,,,"We have to order those."

Yeah,,, well I can do that too.

I buy my Spark plugs at an autoparts shop for less than half what the dealer charges and with a Prefilter I only change my filter every other oil change.

Bummer the 09-on bikes take a plug that the auto parts folks don't carry.

The thing that got me was that I made the appt two weeks prior and asked them specifically to order the plugs and filter...

Anyway, I took em the airfilter I had in the garage this am and went to pick up the bike...an hour away, remember...

"So, didja do anything coolant-wise to the bike?"
"Oh yeah, we did a good drain and flush."
"Didja get it burped good? When I took delivery of it, it was fulla air and kept overheating."

"...Um, yeah, I guess we should do that...."

Another hour later, I got the bike. I'm an idiot. Shoulda just done it myself, it's not like these guys are going to support me in any warranty claim.

Well, the be delivery was to Parker, so not real close to you

But......we may head to the Rio in Lone Tree for a margarita tonight if you and the wife want to join us

Took a quick run up to Rampart Range to test out the new graphics from Crispy Design, and to get a proper picture of them.

Yesterday,I dumped my 300MXC in a crisp mountain stream,it lay there idling happily while I tumbled into deeper water.
It felt great! Only my helmet was sticking out of the water. I relaxed there a while cooling off then lifted the bike up and was on my way.
