No pix, we were running hard to get er done, but today we...

Changed the oil/filter/checked screens
Replaced faulty sidestand bypass module
Replaced brake pedal tip with the larger "rally" version
Bled the rear brake. Full of air since the dealer last tried it. Finally working like it should for the first time.
Checked air filter
Replaced fork springs with .55s from an SE.
Replaced fork oil (we were there....)
Replaced severely cupped, 5500 mile-ish TKC 80 front tire with a new one.
Adjusted chain...getting close to needing a new one, we've gone from one or less adjuster flats per oil change to 2-3...wear's speeding up, looks like.
Replaced more bolts that the dealer screwed up at the last service; wrong length bolts bottomed into the frame so hard the threads on the end were so buggered I almost could not get them out--and the glovebox was still loose. Idjits screwed up everything they got near...NEVER again!
Wanted to wash her but we ran outta light.

...Busy day!

Steve

Finally got the 990 out on some dirt to try out the new Superplush Suspension.
Verdict,... Worth every penny!

The big bike sure is a handful in the deep sand!

Oooooo that 606 front looks awesome.
Been trying to figure out my tire situation for the TET at the end of this month.
Initially thought MEFOs, but I think I may need to be a little more agressive.

Was going to go back to the 908RR rear, paired with the TKC80 or 908 front.. but that looks about perfect.

Adjusted my headlight and wired my GPS to the Acc1 plug. Ride home tonight and thought, "Man I adjusted that light up too high." Turned on my high beam and it lit up below my low beam.

I had swapped the ballast connections and rode home with my high beam on the whole time. No wonder I could read street signs half a mile away.

Fixed that before I bright light a LEO.

908 or 606 front are both pretty squirelly and really noisy on pavement and feel spooky on wet pavement; but if you are riding mostly dirt they work well. I plan to try the Scorpion Rally front next on the 990 for offroad duty. TKC80, T63 or Karoo II T front is better for mixed riding with more pavement. 908 out back works pretty well everywhere, just wish they made it in 150 width.

I'm still waiting for Mitas to make it to the USA with a reliable dealer.

Snowed here last night. -4C this morning.Rode to work downtown this morning at 6AM. Does that count as an adventure? Chilly. Heated grips are nice and the calf robe bridge wasn't as icy as the radio said despite the 20 car pile up last night!

I didn't have good luck with a D606 on the front of my DRZ. It cupped quickly and severely. I won't chance them again...just sayin'.

I really like the 908/606 combo, but the price for a 908 can be crazy. I switched to the Scorpion Rallys F/R and couldn't be happier. I just paid about $100 for a new rear shipped. It was only $180 for both the front and the rear to my door. I don't think that the rear is as good as a 908, but for the price it is really hard to beat.

I am coming to like the Rally front better than the 606. I don't think that it works as well off road, but the way that it wears is a lot better. The 606 cupped badly on me. The Scorpion Rally front wears really evenly.
