I found out how far my 950 will go on a tank of fuel-240 miles exactly. Thats where it quit, leaving my stranded at the bottom of Rattlesnake road a few miles from home. The low fuel warning light failed to illuminate and I just plain was'nt aware of how many miles I had ridden. 240 miles = 41 mpg, not too bad. My GF was kind enough to leave work early and bring me a couple gallons of gas Thanks baby!

By any chance have you had the tanks off and forgot to plug the low fuel sensor plug back in on reinstallation? And keep in mind that the 41 you are so happy with will be more like 30mpg with any hard off-roading. I get close to what you are on-road, but never get much further than 160 off-road.

I can honestly say in the 60,000 plus miles I have done on my 950, I have NEVER got that many mpg

I did have the tanks off doing a valve check a few weeks ago. I will check it out for a loose connector.

Well, My light usally comes on between 160-180 miles depending on how hard i rode. I have been commuting on it so I have'nt been riding very agressively. I did take the long way home that day to scrub in my new front tire. The total miles when it quit were 240. I dint realize how dependent I became on th eidiot light. I usally check the odometer for range.

thanks

I installed my new Sargent seat and modified the kickstand to be adjustable for my 2 sets of wheels!

Or maybe CJ Designs welded it? Nice job either way

No JB weld. I welded it but I used a grinder to make it look better. I'm not that good at welding.

Laugh

Put a new Trugel battery in and ran a pigtail for battery charger or heated gear, with 7.5A online fuse.
It's been running like crap on cold starts, which has been a problem since new. Fired it up and it idles nice and smooth, no backfiring and popping!
No ride though, gonna take the truck and go look for a nice fat tasty bear.

Yep! No one in the neighborhood noticed since the thermometer was at 102 today and smart people stayed indoors.

I've put in a marathon weekend on the 950A since returning from a two week 5700 mile tour of Colorado, Wyoming, and Western Montana (West Fest) two weeks ago today

We have a ride report gathering steam:

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=599761

Projects Completed this Weekend:

Oil Change

Gear Position Sensor Cover O-Ring Replaced (leaking badly last 3K)
Removed Kickstand and cleaned lots of grimy grease under the motor and all over the kickstand and bashplate. Fun!

Facet 40107 Fuel Pump Installed
(Side note - I had installed a 40105 Facet back in 07' which ultimately hydro-locked my motor badly in 09'. I have been back to the OEM since until today.)

Re-Jetted Carb from "Max Elevation" to "West Cast"with a kit from H2W:

Max Elevation:
42 Front Carb/45 Rear Carb
42 Pilot
#70 Air jet
1.75 Turns IMS Screw
3.5mm Floats

Sea Level to 9K Settings
45 Front Carb/48 Rear Carb
45 Pilot
#70 Air jet
1.75 Turns IMS Screw
3.5mm Floats

Now back at Seal Level ( we live at 200Ft) the 950 sounds and runs better than ever.

Current Miles - 27700 Time for a brew

Yesterday I put the first 1000 miles on my 990, so today I checked the oil and coolant, cleaned and lubed the chain, then took it to town to watch the first pre-season football game.

I didn't do much to my KTM 990 today I think the same rules for fake suntan salons applies for KTM also, "more is less & less is more" so here is my new seat, I seen the 2110R 990 had this seat and I thought that would look good on a orange bike pleased to find 2110 seat fits 2008 model
