We only did a short loop of the town, the looks were priceless!

Getting sooooo close on finishing my 1550 side cases. I just have to build the mounts, and they'll be done.

i've used this stuff for many different things in the past. makes a great license plate backing for your dirtbike. just need a dremel with a good cutting wheel and your in business. that was the plan for this but once i had it in hand and "mocked" it up on the bike and played with the position, i didn't have to do anything but drill 3 holes. not really "sexy" or "super cool" but it's hauling bags, who the hell is gonna look at it? plus i had it off the bike in under 2 minutes.

a cheap, white, plastic cutting board. strong, light, water resistant, and heat resistant (to a point). like i said, Keep It Simple Stupid.



great thing is, it also doubles as a cutting board.

Great minds think alike! My top case is mounted on a black cutting board bought at Target. I had to use two nylon spacers to get the case leveled up:

Those are "KTM" branded Gualdi cans, and that is the only way you can mount them. Odd, I know. KTM sold these back in '04 and '05. The PO of my bike was a KTM rep and put these on the bike before I bought it. They're really pretty good overall -- not too quiet, not too loud.

This I REALLY LIKE... thin, clever, look light, look strong... like the rep. of Pelicans too. Can't wait to see the mount.

Trust me, they do:

If you try to mount them the other way, the mounts don't line up and the little KTM decal thing would be facing directly down. My guess is that I have early production cans and that Gualdi rotated them in later production runs.
