Thumb

It was a good day for some spring cleaning. New top end on the 300. Fresh shock oil in the 450. A quick rinse on the 990.

2011 KTM 990 Phase I

Never owned a brand new KTM. Loved my 2008 "R" height model, had it dialed in - then bang! Ped on a bicycle blows a red light in front of me.

Bye Bye 2008 - hello insurance check.

Stock 2011

1. Take Home - the Jeep will hold 7,500 LBS as tongue weight. Yes.!

2. Buy Frakles that got ruined in the crash..
LED Running lights

Reused rear bracket after sanding / repainting - saved!!

I love electrical - so why not set up the battery meter, Garmin, Temp Gauge (cheapo). Oh and angel coin for good luck this time...

Gotta have nice footpegs: Pivoting is good once you get used to scraping your toes on the curves...!

Phase II
Photos to come..

- Aux power outlet on side of glove box
- UNI prefilter - was sooo easy
- BIG DOG side stand re locator.....gotta have it.
- BIG DOG Skid plate (slightly used from a 2008) hehehe
- Heated Grips - Oh ..... Yea......toasty.
- ADV 2.2 Tank w/ 2:1 pipe (swiped from the old bike before she set sailed to the "yard")
- Remus single Ti Can (also swiped - it always pays to keep your boat anchor silencers handy)
- Crash Guards: After the first Oil change, thank you....grrrrrrrr
- Acerbis hand guards - - just cause I am NOT afraid to fall and I know what it feels like (THUD)

Phase III
- SUPERPLUSH! Nuf Said.... Stock is sooooo mushy in the front.

More to come...........it's like Christmas all over again.....

Ran into a CVS and bought some baby oil to replenish clutch fluid that pissed all over my Aerostich through the bad master cylinder seal. No bike shop or hardware store near; the gas station I pulled into only had Cheetos beer.

Now looks like time to order a rebuild kit.

Next time run into any auto parts store for some Honda power steering fluid. It is mineral oil. Been running it for years. ;)
No perfume.

Mine went at about 32,000 miles. Not rebuildable. The cylinder that the piston runs in was fecked. I replaced mine with the Evo. I think they are out of business. Here's a linky to the Oberon: http://www.cjdesignsllc.com/about-us...c8-slave-unit/

Looks like Rekluse now makes an adjustable slave: http://blackdogcw.com/black-dog-shop...er-detail.html

Best of luck.

Be careful on that bottom one. I've already snapped off the Welded on swingarm tabs when I tested this out years ago. If you to need to use it, you might find it gone at the end of a ride, leaving you scratching your head. For street use, it looks and works great. For the Rocks, plastic would be better or weld on a setup like the Super Enduro chain guard. The OEM ADV setup is pretty lame and can't take much abuse.

Congrats on the new bike. White is the sexiest color.

I think 7500 pounds is your towing weight not tongue weight. If it is a class three hitch it is rated for 500 pound tongue weight.

What kind of LED lights did you get for the front? How many lumens do they point out?

Best of luck.
The Rekluse adjustable slave is meant for the Rekluse EXP auto-clutch LC8 kit, interesting to see it being sold as a replacement for a standard clutch. Just set once and forget I guess. CJdesigns also sells the Rekluse adjustable slave.

Pulled the stock radiator guard and cleaned bugs/ road grime/ dirt off radiator with water bottle, engine degreaser and toilet style brush.

Then added new radiator guard by Cox Racing through KTMtwins. Open screen should move more cool air over the radiator to lower temps.
