I started off the day with some errands. This provided ample opportunities for some crossed up slides and wheelies.

These 908's are kinda fun on pavement.
Crossed up on Newport headed home was a hoot.

Picked up my Rottweiler "Snap Out" plate.

I'll get to install it tomorrow I had to work on "My List" today. Honey-dos.

Then come Monday I think I need to go play on some dirt.

Got her stuck...

Note to self: Don't take a 500 lb bike on swampy single track alone.

Installed my Christmas present. JW Speaker 90mm LED... Light is pretty mediocre, but looks cool.

CJ peg extenders and heated grips

Installed CJ foot peg extenders and heated grips. Mounted the grip switch to the top triple clamp with the included bracket. Made for a clean discrete location for the switch. Anyone ever use hair gel or hair spray instead of grip glue? Works great and makes it easier to change the grips out.

Hair Spray works great!

Although it was tricky trying to explain to the lady in the drug store why i wanted the stickiest stuff they had.

Better than having to explain why you'd want the slipperiest item they have. ;)

I installed my Rottweiler Plate.

I managed to put the airbox all together, then notice the horns sitting there in my underseat toolbox.

After I removed the crashbars, and both tanks,
This is where I decided I needed to pull the tanks off all the way.

I bolted the fuses to the top of the plate. I just evened it up and tightened it down.

There are these little machined sockethead cap screws that act as pins for the rear mount points,

The plate allows the four black screws to hold the box together and never ever be disturbed again.

And all done. It did take me a few hours since I was fiddling around with extra wiring stuff, (no ABS so there are these big connectors and I needed to find a home for.
The golve box is only slightly smaller than my daughters Miata trunk.

That airbox is going to go away soon. A dozen screws to get to the thing is obnoxious. I'll pull out the secondary butterflies then too.
I still need to wire up my electric vest controller, but I was not in the mood to pull enough stuff off for that to be easy today.
At some point there is the canister and SAS to get to as well.
I decided I',m going to buy a lift to help with the coolant burping thing. I picked up coolant before Christmas. So, soon...

Went out to the desert to practice/ get reacquainted with riding in sand and offroad. I had planned on going to t he dry lake, but when the pavement ended I just kept on riding.

Can you see my smile? The 908RR's and the big KTM work very well in the loose stuff. I found some deeper sand as well as those fun intersections of berms and ruts and loose stuff. The big BMW 1150 Adventure used to wallow and scare the beans out of me crossing that stuff. The big black bike just goes where I point it.
