I installed my Rottweiler Plate.

I managed to put the airbox all together, then notice the horns sitting there in my underseat toolbox.

After I removed the crashbars, and both tanks,
This is where I decided I needed to pull the tanks off all the way.

I bolted the fuses to the top of the plate. I just evened it up and tightened it down.

There are these little machined sockethead cap screws that act as pins for the rear mount points,

The plate allows the four black screws to hold the box together and never ever be disturbed again.

And all done. It did take me a few hours since I was fiddling around with extra wiring stuff, (no ABS so there are these big connectors and I needed to find a home for.
The golve box is only slightly smaller than my daughters Miata trunk.

That airbox is going to go away soon. A dozen screws to get to the thing is obnoxious. I'll pull out the secondary butterflies then too.
I still need to wire up my electric vest controller, but I was not in the mood to pull enough stuff off for that to be easy today.
At some point there is the canister and SAS to get to as well.
I decided I',m going to buy a lift to help with the coolant burping thing. I picked up coolant before Christmas. So, soon...

Covered some Baja battle scars

With a custom decal set. A variation of the 2011 Red Bull Despres logo set for the 950.

Went out to the desert to practice/ get reacquainted with riding in sand and offroad. I had planned on going to t he dry lake, but when the pavement ended I just kept on riding.

Can you see my smile? The 908RR's and the big KTM work very well in the loose stuff. I found some deeper sand as well as those fun intersections of berms and ruts and loose stuff. The big BMW 1150 Adventure used to wallow and scare the beans out of me crossing that stuff. The big black bike just goes where I point it.

That was the original design. Now they just have 1 version for both 990 and 950 AND it works with stock airbox. You can read the description from their website.

But the their intake is totally rad, it's my favorite mod on the bike. Shame on your for not getting one !

I modified my glovebox so it would open up fully and touch the handlebars

Shame?

Nah. It's not just bolting on the intake and off you go to more hp. It's the intake, the sas, the canister, the exhaust, then the Tune ECU-ing. Sure, all doable, but not simple.

Rottweiler single side exhaust on order, though ; )

What Did You Do To Your KTM Today?

Sunny beach!

So our Christmas card to our neighbor was a fake oil spill with holiday greetings on the back.

Went over and dropped it on the middle of his pristine new concrete slab in his almost finished garage while he was out.

Today, I sent the boy into the garage for something and comes back with,"you know the ktm is leaking right?"

Yep. And it's not fake either.... Looks like the gear pos sensor on neutral switch (can't remember which ) behind the side stand relocator. Nother project for the winter.

...karma's a bitch...

:)
