It's all good. I was surprised at how close it was placed to the other tag. Great minds think alike!

Grab

Top of the ridge at the Woodstock Tower, Woodstock Tower Rd = Rt 758 .

At the tower trailhead with newbie MtnPat:

A bit cloudy and hazy today but a beautiful site nevertheless.

Tag

Here are Rudy and friend at the base of a sign post:

Now covered with grass:

A bit of glare looking in to the sun:

So a better look at the sign:

The first of three words of the name of the road is the same as a variety of waterfowl (way distant relation to Rudy) with black feet (hence the latin name D. nigripes). The second word has to do with the name for a district over which a lord had domain and could exercise certain rights and privileges in medieval western Europe. The final word is used in the computer world to indicate a sequence of instructions that repeats either a specified number of times or until a particular condition is met.

In SR number form, the 3 digits add up to 10.

The actual sign is near the apex of the road. If you enter from the NE I would recommend continuing WNW for a nice scenic country ride.

The road has some loose rough gravel.

Grabbed. Gooney Manor Loop Browntown,VA.

I had PM'd the tagger prior to heading out this morning to grab the VA tag. I dropped the VA tag at the store in Browntown and headed home. Only to learn later I passed RIGHT by the NW VA tag. So, back to Browntown I went for another grab!

Tell me this, what's with Rudy's buddy? Does he belong to another game?

New tag tomorrow.

After I didn't see a post here I KNEW I should have gone up and checked on/grabbed the tag. I figured that's why you took the VA tag up there...

I knew the NW VA tag was on Gooney Manor, but completely spaced out and forgot to go get it! When I got home and checked my PM's I realized what I had done!

No. I took the other duck along on a Patagonia ride a few months ago for another purpose and he was still in my tank bag. Thinking that he needed out to see the world and not my old gloves, wrinkled maps, and stale chewing gum, I decided to set him free. So do with him as you like. Keep him in the TAG or send him on another journey. It's up to the TAG group.

Here he is in La Leona, Argentina

I was going to grab it last night and take it Southeast but it would have added another hour+ to my ride.

Keep them both together and the next time I grab the tag I'll get Rudy back to Beast Rider. It's always nice to change up mascots now and then.

So what's his/her name? Leona(the name on the sign), Leon? Chile Duck? Cold Duck? ADV Duck?

just an idea............but whats everyone think about starting up a new tag-o-rama in the NW VA area? I was thinking we take adventure duck and make him the mascot of a new game to help get the economy back on track! We could call it "tag to eat" The the duck could only be left at places of business that serve food. AND.............you must eat or drink something with the grab!........... thoughts?

Can I borrow some money to get a bacon sammich?

Now that I just typed that and thought about it some more...I think it would be rather cool. Your talking restaurants and not 7-11's/ quicky marts right?
We could start off local but it could be turned into a Regional or Statewide game if more inmates expressed an interest because it would take but so long to run out of good places locally.

"The ADV food network gone wild(duck) tag-o-rama!"

You could leave it with the staff and would have to get a pic of the duck in the restaurant along with your meal or beverage and maybe even with the waitress/waiter/hostess/host/etc.
If they didn't want to fool with the duck they you could hide it outside.

More feed back?

Well Butch might be appropriate because the ONLY claim to fame in La Leona, Argentina (which consists of that ONE Hotel with 4 rooms and NOTHING else)

is that Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid supposedly holed out there after robbing a bank in Rio Gallegos and stayed there to evade the Argentinian mounted police before running to Chile to their sheep ranch (yeah, after being chased out of America, they tried to go legit in the sheep farming business until the fem fatale Eta Place got to running a bit loose with the natives and so men, being men had to take their frustrations out by robbing and killing the locales). http://www.hoteldecampolaleona.com.ar/history.html
Great to be Americans in foreign countries.
They make a big thing about the crazy Gringos down there.
