Great Indian Road Chips

IMAG0049

Duck and snack behind large rock at entrance island buried under much and smaller rock. Nice AM for a ride 125mi before work is always sweeter than coffee...

Wow, I've been away from a computer for a couple days and the duck has been moved twice. Nice job! Thanks for helping this new game along.

So HBN, I see you fed Dewey. Now to figure out where he is...

Tag

The money shot... sorry about the blurry photo, it was almost dark...

A little closer to the hiding spot...

Closer yet...

and covered up....

And on the funny side... I followed Bwalsh from the grab to the new tag location.... he didn't fair so well... GOT BUGS?

Now for the clues:

As you can tell, the tag is an old mill. Let the duck help you find the name of the road he is on. Go to http://www.duckduckgo.com and search a fictional clandestine anti-terrorist organization featured in the Executioner series of action-adventure novels first published in 1982. To make sure you have the correct road, the sum of the route number is 12.

Ride on and watch the bugs!

One inmate PM'd me today with the correct location. Said he had other obligations today, but my money is on that he will make the grab on Sunday.

Tag

Found Little Dewey, Stonyman Road, just off 340, couple miles south of Luray.

Dewey stopped by the campground for a couple beers & a sandwich. He can pound em down 'bout a good as Cool Cat.

Visited with Turd Cat for a bit.

We will ge heading out in a few minutes to place the new tag. Give a call, stop in, if you're down this way. 570-881-7184

New Tag

Overall, this new tag shouldn't be to hard to find. Three bridges, 1 rr, 1 non op, 1 new. On the border of two counties. Stand in this spot and look for the Town name sign, Dewey will be at base, under rock.
We didn't go far, I forgot my small laptop to post on the fly. Wanted to keep the game movin'.
Hope this spot hasn't been used before, I didn't find the list (didn't look too hard).

Glad to see you got the grab. This game is too new to be "moving" like other games.
I haven't had time to make a list or map yet but re-tagging would be virtually impossible right now. I think your tag is the 10th(?) one of this game.
Nice tag spot! It just so happens I know where Dewey is. I may have to go grab him and head North.

Thanks B. You and River made our week on vacation (Lynne went with for the new tag). Got a double, first time. Here in PA, just one ToR. Big ass state to go after it, unless it's close, then it goes away for a month or so, till someone makes a major road trip.
We took off this morn, got to NE PA ok. Looking forward to our next trip to Catherder Country

Later

Mark5... you're welcome! Come back anytime. Next time you're in the area, we should get together and go make a grab somewhere

Grab!

Overall Rd. at the old 340 bridge.

New tag. This is one of the money shots. If you look closely you can see something at the woods line for a reference.

If you look closely you can make something out back in the woods over top of my seat. You can walk back there through here

You can still make something out. It's an old dam...

Pay attention to the dead tree stump in the previous pic. The best path down is right by it.
A little further down

Standing where I took the last pic turn back around and you see the dead tree again. Notice the piece of bark near the top that looks out of place?

Notice Dewey's butt in the previous pic?
Dewey's hiding near this dam, six tenths of a mile from the RxR crossing on another road, on a road that shares another nickname for the Quaker State. Got that?
Almost forgot, here is the extra point money shot

One last thing. You may want to disregard one of my previous posts.

It is! I'd like to find out what it's purpose was.
I was riding up through there looking for a good spot and saw it out of the corner of my eye. You may have to look closer(use the clues) to find it as the leaves are out more.
Nice area to ride in too!

Grab

Grab....Keystone Road just South of Stanley VA about 6/10ths of a mile south of the RR tracks.....tough to see since all the leaves are out but you can just see the water coming over the dam through the trees in front of my bike.

And there is Dewey basking in the sunlight after I removed the piece of bark....

Neat old dam.....I wish I knew the history behind it....also looks like a place where the locals come to drink beer.

New tag to come after I upload some pics....great ride early this morning.

Tag

Tag.....

Now you see Dewey......

Now you don't.....

It's that metal post on the bottom right in front of what appears to be an abandoned old bridge.....

Indeed it is......

Here is the view down onto that little creek from the bridge....

And the bike pic....

Captain Robert Gray was famous for sailing his ship the Columbia, in and around the Pacific Northwest. The Columbia actually was named the Columbia _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ . The road that this abandoned bridge is on shares it's name with the second name of the Columbia. Since every bridge has 2 ends.....this location is at the intersection of a 3 digit road whose numbers add up to 10. The road Dewey is on is also sometimes know as Old something something . Good hunting.
