Thats not a bad deal there! Could have been a lot worse. Maybe you can get this next tag....

New tag!

The money shot

Here's a shot looking back towards the bike. See the soda bottle at the bottom of the pic?

Dewey is hiding under the piece of wood next to the bottle

and now covered up

Clues...

This is the northern most grade crossing on this local shortline railway. This particular track stays within the state.

EDIT: In it's earlier years it used to haul timber for...what else...railroad ties! Ya might have to break out the ol paper maps on this one!

paper maps

Actually google maps shows RxR tracks but the linework they use looks like a secondary road. The line is now referred to by the locals as "Ol' Weak and Weary"

I gotta tell ya, I love google, and the fact that people have a website dedicated to everything, even short line railroads.

Can't get the pass from the wifey for a 2 hr round trip tonight, but I might have to go get this one if it's still there tomorrow. Plus, I'm still waiting for my boots to dry out. Seems that Gore tex doesn't breathe too well if you actually submerse the boot in 18 inches of water!

Even though LoCoMatt has it figured out I'll add that this railway owns another track that goes into another state and has tracks up in Jersey too but this particular track stays within the state. If you know the name of the railway it answers the question!
Then just follow the tracks.

Tag. Dewey is at the base of the tree on the right.

Dewey is located between a spit of a highway, and is in a location that is within a minutes drive of being in 3 different counties within this games boundaries.

I'd like to think my Google Fu is strong so I was feeling pretty sure that it was Winchester and Western Railroad.
I see where this particular track begins at Fresh Water Pond and if I follow it (using Google Maps) it'll go all the way to WV. The only thing I can think is that there is a rail intersection just south of highways 11 and 37. Is that the end of one track and the continuation of another?
I suspect the problem is in the definition or use of the word "track".

In any event glad it was found. I know where the new tag is at but I probably can't get there for a few days. I don't think it'll be there that long.

The track ends at Gore now. It used to go into West VA but was abandoned in the 30's( I believe). Google Winchester and Western railroad...there is a lot of info about the early years of the line out through Gore. Read up cause there will be a test!

EDIT: Fresh water pond is the end of the line. They haul sand from a quarry into Winchester then switch over to the main line to Hagerstown.

My google fu is mediocre at best, but I get lucky sometimes.

I was amazed at the returns on "va shortline railroads"! Lots of people passionate about the little guys. Some cool info out there.

Wicked New Tag

This place is along a road with a 3 digit number the sum of which is 15. The place is one of many places in the Valley where things were "heated up" for the cause of "freedom" . This place just actually has the name to match that discription.

I have tagged this place before on another tag game many moons ago. I like the road so...here it is again.

The yellow fowl is at the base of the yellow sign pole.
