you mean you're supposed to sit on these things?
just kidding. idk were to get it done, but if you find a place, please post it here. the seats do suck for sitting any length of time.

help
ok my 2006 crf450x just got here (phx az) from north carolina the bike was purchased here in AZ and was only in NC for about 8 months... i hooked battery tender up to the battery changed engine oil and filter. the bike is all stock except for accelorator pump and a filter.
I choked the carb fired it up and the idle while on choke was low like reg idle... let it warm up even played with the mixture screw the whole time the idle was really choppy not constant when i turned the choke off the bike dies... tried it again this time i gave it a little throttle when i turned the choke off it was choppy revs and crackling from the exhaust... also happend to look at my header and it was glowing red after only few min (may 3 min) of trying to get it to idle.... any help would be awesome i have not been able to contact the po to see if he jetted it for NC my only assumption is its jetted to lean??? ![]() ![]() any help would be awesoe guys i will get pics up soon

Take the carb completely apart and clean it thoroughly and go from there. You can't mess with the jetting until you know every passage/jet is perfectly clean.

and a red pipe isnt good showing a lean conditon.. check the air screw and how many turns.. thumper talk has some good jetting advice.. also stay on top of the valve adjustments..

Make sure the air filter is clean and oiled and without some kind of rodent nest in the airbox.
Drain the carb float bowl through the drain screw at the bottom (takes a slot-head screwdriver). If the bike continues to run only while on choke, it's a classic sign of the carburetor jets and passageways being blocked due to the bike sitting too long with gas in the carburetor. The pilot jet is usually the easiest to clog. This means taking it apart for a thorough cleaning. This is the case with any carbureted bike, especially one that runs on straight gasoline. This can and does happen to even brand-new bikes sitting on a Honda dealer's showroom if gas is left in the carburetor. |

I just put on the Seatconcepts.com seat and it is really nice. A little firmer than I had hoped but the width is great.

15 tooth case saver
Does anyone have a lead on a case saver that will accept a 15 tooth output shaft sprocket for the X?
Thanks

We use the Fastway case saver...it has to be slightly altered for the 15T CS to fit.

I use one of those seat pads for atv's from Walmart and it works great plus its a cheap fix and comes off easy. I've used it on my KLR, DRZ-S and now the CFR450X. If you want a pic let me know and I'll post it for you.

Hi, I will be following this thread because my new bike, Christini AWD 450, is based on a Chinese made copy of the Honda CRF450X. I have downloaded a CRFX manual and so far it's all identical. I am also able to swap over the Rekluse rear hand brake from my old CRF450R and the brakes are the same as well. I plan on installing a Rekluse clutch and convert my Supermoto wheels to the front drive. My CRFR has been the best bike I ever owned, so I am hopeful this one will be as good.
