Always like seeing them in colors they were not offered in. I thought about the clone engines but I really wanted to keep the dual-range transmission. If it can hit 50-55 mph with the new motor I'll be happy. Sean

My friend lives in downtown Seattle, so his main focus is kickass gas mileage in the city, cheap and easy parking, and low cost of transportation. His little honda does it all. I doubt that he regularly tops 55 in normal traffic, but now has more options when he is commuting and doesn't have to be as unsafe when traveling on faster streets. Local 55mph highways are now an option as well.
Better brakes would be a huge benefit though! --Alex |

My bike's smallish drum brakes and limited suspension travel were part of the reason why I went with the 100 c.c. engine, The other being not needing the oil bypass conversion, and there being a ton of parts available for 110/100 cc Lifans.

I'm planning to mount mine to the front of my motorhome with a similar rack. It's a lot more fun venturing around on the CT than pedal bikes and it's allowed in the parks because it's street legal. Sean

I'll get some better pics later... that one does the paint job no justice. It really was done pretty well.

But as far as the CT goes, I do have some news. My buddy has been working on making his own electro-plating setup, the same buddy who is restoring his 1964 CT200. He ultimately wants to nickel-plate a bunch of stuff on his. Part of the process is to first copper plate the parts he wants to nickel plate. How would a satin-black powdercoated frame with copper plated wheels, spokes and triple clamps look? Yeah! When my buddy talked to the powdercoater he mentioned I wanted to do black and the powdercoater said he had a surplus of satin-black (hot rod black) so I lucked out. Now I just have to find time to finish disassembling the frame so I can have it blasted and powdercoated. Unfortunately I'm out of town all this week for work so that's gonna take a while. I don't think I can really come back to this thing for another three weeks or so when things start slowing down for me. Sean

I'd love to see any progress you may have made to the CT.

Yeah it's in a box, literally. I sold the house and move within the month. My buddy with the 1964 C200 is going to take it to his shop for now so I can finish it as I won't have a garage yet at the new place. Good news is I get to build a garage so it's getting everything I always wanted. In-floor heat and a urinal! LOL.
I promise I'll get to this thing again but I just have too much other stuff going on. Sean

Is there anything better than building your own garage? I love doing this, especially if you have a nice budget. |
