Thumb Info Sent!

The whole of Southeast Alaska is populated by people who are "broke down".
I try to lend assistance where I can.

Please add me to The List.

I echo Jordan's comments, I'll be riding all around your wonderful state come June/July. I hope I never need to get ahold of anyone with an emergency, however its awesome to know that your support is there. It would be great like to meet some of you folks for a beer whilst we travel through!

This is cool, we have a sticky! Thanks to the mods for putting it up. Now we are adding a Canada section too because someone from Dawson City put their name in the hat. So if there are any more Canadians out there interested, let me know. Thanks, Barb

Thanks Barb!

Hey Barb-

Looks good, but there's a typo on my cell area code (907).

Well, I can attest to how good an idea this is. I went down hard in the White Mountains Sunday on the V-strom, broke my collarbone and whacked my head pretty good. Tow truck strapped me down for a ride to the hospital and the ambulance took the bike to the local Mobil station. There were no places to stay, no taxis near the hospital. I found a private shuttle to take me the fifteen miles to a little inn, which coincidentally was a block from the Mobil station. Once I got my senses about me after a handful of percocet and a mug of tequila, I got on ADVrider. The only thing I saw with NH was the Tag-O-Rama so I crashed it. Within hours a number of ADVriders responded and on Tuesday one drove an hour an a half to help me out. Got his buddy to come up with a pickup, helped with getting parts, put me up for a night, and then stored the bike and got me to the airport after I realized the balance problems from the concussion weren't going away quite yet. It's good to see the Alaska forum on the cutting edge once again! Roger

You guys are awesome. I'm in Anchorage for a few more days. Don't have my bike and have been feeling very lonely for it. I'll be working all over this beautiful state for the next few months unfortunately with out any chance of riding. It's great to know that there are such friendly people in Alaska. Alaska Leather is a must visit store. I want one of those cool seat covers for the DR350.
