Thumb Fleur de Lis

Here is a little update on Fleur de Lis in Gentry AR.
They are starting a new tradition, Crawfish Friday Nights.
We had them last Friday, and they are incredible!

Unfortunately they are CLOSED. They packed-up there mud-bugs and went back to LA. :(

Never had the concho's to eat boiled crawdad's. Have eaten fried crawdad tails. (They were "okay"... sort of like strong tasting shrimp.) Maybe the boiled crawdad tails would be good... but what do you do with the green stuff inside that body part? If you eat it, is it real strong tasting?

Never did eat the insides of same on a boiled lobster, either. Learned that my favorite way to have boiled lobster was "stuffed": The body shell was cleaned out and it was stuffed with a seasoned cornbread stuffing. THAT was good.

Eating crawdads is simple, ya pinch da tail then suck the head!!! Fried crawdads is like fried shrimp, not the right way to cook em!

Question Suck the head

I tried sucking the head on about my sixth crawdad......not to my liking!
VERY fishy tasting, but I like the tails and the claw-meat on the bigger ones tastes a lot like lobster.

If you want to ease into eating crawdads, order the Catfish Acadian!

Crawfish tails are very excellent cooked in many different ways. As it was meant to be. Sucking the head will give the sucker exactly what he/she deserves. Kinda like eating the colon of a cow. Why? Most that do it are the exhibitionist type dying for attention. Next time you are around someone doing it watch how they make sure everyone knows. Never fails. You know the type, one in every crowd. Kinda like the guy who hands you his beer and says-- watch this! And thats the truth.

Man! If I had a dollar for every time I heard a coonass say he was hungry enough to eat the ass end out of a menstruating skunk or the South end of a north bound cow.....
