The Sena's noise cancellation is very good. I'm still of the opinion that Autocom is tops in this area, but were talking about two completely different animals, here.

The G4 has ability to upgrade firmware .... can the Sena do that?

Yes if all the BWDR's get this headset we can chit chat on group rides...

Not sure if that is desireable or not though.

So long as it is used mostly for making fun of others it's all good.

I was thinking about it, though, and it seems that these things could be used in many, many ways.

For instance, in a train of riders and pillions, each rider could be paired to their passenger, and the bikes immediately in front and behind, I think... That could come in handy in some instances, I imagine.

I would hate to think what the message becomes by the time it gets from the front of the line to the back! Surely someones mother would end up getting insulted when the message started out being "hey, we're gonna stop for lunch soon..."

If everyone had an FRS radio paired to the headset then I think a large group could all talk to each other on the same channel if people waited their turn to talk and said things like roger over and out...

Do they have bluetooth FRS radios, or at least dongles for the two-prong Kenwood style radios?

I'm getting a curious effect when listening to music sometimes.

I was all prepared to say that it happens if I pause the music, do something else with the headset and then resume, but a day or two ago it happened when I first started listening.

I hold the big button to play/resume music, and instead of a steady stream I hear broken bits of the audio. Turning the headset off and back on clears it up pretty easily, but I'm wondering whether it's my Motorola Droid or the Sena headset that's acting up here. I figured I'd post the symptom as a data point. I'd love to get an update for one or another of the devices to fix this.

Re Bluetooth FRS radios, the Blu-Comm adapter + PTT may be of interest. These fit a lot of radios. We don't offer these yet, but if there's interest, we'll look into it.

Maybe... Although the description of the symptoms is a bit different. In my case it's the occasional fraction of a second of music every 6 or 10 seconds (random appearing intervals). I've dropped a note to Sena support about this, to see if they have anything to say. It's just one small glitch that is easily enough worked around, but if someone has a good answer that would be pretty sweet.

The firmware is not end-user upgradable on the Sena SMH10. If there's an issue during the warranty period, that a firmware update would address, Sena will replace the unit with the updated version. Of course, we will work with you should there be any concerns.

iPhone 3Gs (sw version 3.1.2)... We have them here, and have paired-up the Sena using the A2DP profile.

This is the exact issue I have with my Droid. It looks like an existing Droid bug but who knows maybe Sena has a louder voice in the bug triage process than we do. Anyhow I've found that turning off and back on the headset or software disconnecting it from the phone end and reconnecting usually fixes this problem.

Hey thanks!

Yeah, turning the headset off fixes it but it also does sound likely that it is an issue with the Droid.

That's good news though since we get lots of software updates on the phones.
