Too many hours for too few dollars. Plus two personal trips. Wont go so far as to call visiting family "vacation".

Bike hasn't left the garage since 7-29 when I got back from a Vesuvius run.

If it's still there Sunday could be game, my son has a football game Saturday. Tag might could end up on one of those dirt roads off the Trail if I get it ...

So far this game has done a good job staying away from strip mall tag locations :)

Could be!
The rules were modified a few months ago to include (my words >) "dirt roads that are reasonably rideable to an ADV'r". I did not see anything that said big puddles on the road are a problem...

Yea it got a little dark on us... But we managed to dodge the thunderstorms. New tag up shortly. I am vacationing on the northern neck this week.

Mehhhh, took a chance and went the opposite direction. Took the Trail up to 360 from 33, had a fish sandwich @ the BP and came back to GLO.

Well lets give this a try with my smarty phone. The Julian Rosenwald High School is on 360 on the way to Reedville. I will try to post the map location later but for.now lets try a pictue from the Heathville Food Lion because they have a rest room and the Subway did not. Then on to 201.

Here is the new tag. This place is about a form of transportation used around the bay before there was a good road network. More paddles than a canoe. Bike Virginia was going by when I stopped. But all made a wrong turn to see this.

Grab!
Steamboat Era Museum in Irvington on King Carter Drive. Cool little place; more about how the steamboats impacted life in the area than the boats themselves though you do learn about the boats. A nice 30 minute learning experience and ride rest.

New (Dirty) Tag

OK, we'll make finding the tag location easy, but the ride there a little more fun. Remember, the rules for this TOR say that the tag can be placed on a dirt or gravel road so long as it's in reasonably well-maintained shape ( parapharasing article 2, section 4.A, paragraph 3).

This is ON Truhart road in King and Queen County about 2.5 miles in from "The Trail". From that direction the road is all nice dirt/gravel that could probably be ridden by a Doo rag wearing, sleeveless T-shirt wearing CPA on a Screamin' Eagle Electra Glide. If you take Truhart all the way through or approach from the other side there were a few puddles and small holes to work through but nothing to sweat if you have ridden forest roads. Easy to double back to the "Trail" if you want to play it safe. So... 5 miles of dirt to make the tag whether you double bag to "The Trail" or punch through and continue the available paved/unpaved options on the far side.

And no, I don't know what the "Fox Pen" is, but it conjured up banjo music in my mind so I did not take that fork in the road. 3 bonus points if you ride there, check it out and let us know...remember, this is an adventure.
