Just about to order a new RT and was going to order the BMW Akra pipe, mainly for the slightly deeper growl, and I also prefer the look to the big chrome stock item........
However, I looked on the Akra web site and found the dyno graph........I wasn't looking for/expecting a power hike, but the graph clearly shows that over all of the mid range the Akra pipe is down between 4 - 8 hp !!!!!
Don't think i'll pay 700- to loose power !!

I've now found a nice looking Titanium Remus Hexicone......for 400- and the dyno graph looks as if it mimics the stock can, so am happy to spend 400-on looks & sound !

Also found the Arrow Maxi Race Titanium end can, which looks nice, but no info on dyno graph.......

Anyone have any experience of these cans ?

thinking of getting a new RT and dumping this, reason I find I rather enjoy the slab.

Came so close to getting the GS vs RT. Just love the looks of the GS with cases on etc. BUT, also knew that wouldn't be off road with such a big unit and was planning a cross country jaunt. Did the trip and loved the way the RT handled the miles. Set cruise for 85 and go! When really hot, Kansas, my cool vest took care of the problem. Handled the wind very well, same with the rain. Only complaint would be more protection for hands when cold.

Have added upper mirrors to be able to see around/over strapped on camping stuff. Hard wired ear buds for the radio. Heard too many bad stories about the BMW blue tooth setup.

Don't think it can be beat for long distance riding.

I had a red '09 GSA,now I have a blue '12 RT. I am very happy with the RT.

The cruise control is great. The radio is great,I run everything into a mixer and to earbuds, and it is so nice to be able to control the volume,etc...I find the RT is easier to ride and more comfortable than the GSA.Long days are easier, and I can go farther before I'm tired.

Everything you just said! I moved from a K12RS to a GS to an RT. Today I did 575 miles in 50 - 60 degree weather in upper Michigan, and it is truly a mile eater!

It's a keeper!

After the ear bud mod the OEM stereo rocks. The thumb wheel is a lot easier to use than the buttons on the zumos.

Buy the BMW plug for the "rear" speakers and wire it to earbuds,or into a mixer and then earbuds.
I'm using a Mix-It mixer to bring the stereo,GPS,and radar detector into earbuds.
I have the mixer in my tankbag, and radar on top of the tankbag. In the front of the tankbag it is plugged into 12 volts and the stereo/BMW GPS from the bike. Then on the back of the tankbag is a plug for the earbuds. It works good.Only two plugs to remove the tankbag to fuel up.I like how it works.

Decided to go for a ride after lunch.Pushed the bike outside.Put all my gear on.Hit the start button and it started, then stalled. Now it will crank, but won't start.I don't hear the fuel pump.I called BMW roadside, they will tow it to the dealer in Essex,VT.I have had a few issues with Essex, and others I know have had problems also.I want it to go to Max BMW in NY where I purchased the bike.So I talked with Jim in the service dept.at Max,they are going to pick it up next week.If I have to pay something for the towing,so be it.I will post up what's going on with the bike.

So I had to try to start it again. After several attempts, key on and try to start then key off, there was a weird "squawk" noise from the fuel pump area. The next attempt it fired and quit. The next one it caught and it ran.I have started it a couple more times. But the fuel pump makes a strange noise,a squeak/squawk when the key is turned on.
Anybody else hear a noise like that from the fuel pump area ? I don't remember it doing that.
