I have been riding all over town on the Zuma.

Stopped by the local dealer on Wednesday and ordered the C3 mirrors. They should be in next week.

Got about 100 miles in so far. I am starting to wonder about the future of my Honda Shadow. This thing is so damn easy and fun that I have no desire to get out the bike at all. Love the automatic. I don't miss shifting at all.

I still want to have a highway capable bike so I am thinking that maybe a Maxi scoot will replace the Shadow in the next year or so.

This damn Zuma has made me a scooter convert for sure.

[QUOTE=cbolling;14745368]Yea, I need to get the mirrors.

I love the BMW shield on the Zuma. Do you know what model year it was from?

CB, if you mean the shield on my Zuma, its from a R1200R and I just sprayed it black. It works really well.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the Zuma! Yep, scoots sure as hell have their place! And are a shit load of fun around town!

But, to me however, no scoot can replace a Big Twin! I simply could not sell a big twin for a scoot in your case.

I think this is just me personally, but every rider is different! I do agree, I LOVE my Elite around town! It beats firing up the 1600 cc 850+ pound hog for around town riding. And you can't beat that smooth, automatic CVT tranny! I mean after a full workout at the gym, I think my calves have had it and my left fingers have done plenty of grip work! Plus my chest has done more than enough pushing around heavy weights when it comes to severe traffic! Na, this is just an extreme over-exaggeration and a joke, but you get the point!

But for long distance highway rides, nothing can replace a twin for me! But thats just me. Maybe nothing can replace a nice smooth, quiet yet very fast 400 or 650 cc single or inline twin for you!

Can't wait to hear more about riding! Hopefully you will get the time to put on some real miles soon, and give a full ride report!

Have fun! Although I think you already got that down!

Hey Mike...send me a link of what you're looking for and I'll tell you where you can find it at one of our stores. (yes! I work for Home Depot).
Shame your local Depot sucks. With over 150,000 items in our stores (I have over 3,500 SKU's in my plumbing dept alone) it's rough for EVERY associate to know where EVERY item is but, where I work, we'll at least send you to to the department where it's located so; someone in that department can take you right to it.
Hint...we also have signs on all the aisles to get you in the right vicinity.
(which most of our Customers don't know how to read or even have a clue as to what the product is associated with by department)
I routinely have idiots in the plumbing department looking for lightbulbs.
W.T.F.?!
Stupid is on both sides of retail, unfortunately.

If it's the traction mat you're looking for, check out the hardware dept. as they sell a rubber mat that sticks to the bottom of tool boxes to keep your tools from sliding around.
If it's double sided mounting tape, that's located in the paint department next to the other tapes.

Yep, that is the one. I will look on Bike Bandit to find out exactly what I am looking for.

Thanks

holy cream cheese it has been a while since I posted here, mainly due to the fact I have not been riding I guess!

health and crappy weather kept me off the mini terror on two wheels.
Well that had a brief cancellation today.
No meetings, all email and web stuff for work. Hmmm remote day at work sounds like a plan.

So off to a cafe for breakfast, got a few hours of work in then, off to another place for lunch, all with wifi so it is great. Stay up to date on work and quick scooter rides between places.
Then after lunch a slightly longer trip for a bit of desert (hell why not right).

Took the local twisties up to Alice's and a slice of apple pie and ice cream to keep the afternoon munchies at bay, only a couple of bikes up there it was so nice out, chilly but nice.

Then off along skyline for a quick trip back to another wifi cafe for a lemonade and continue of the work day.

I could get use to this

Pics in a bit they are uploading now

OK, some pics
Nice and warm and mostly dry

After lunch snack here

cool place

Then off for some more twisty fun

clear all the way to the ocean

San Francisco way off in the distance, very clear day.

reservoir looks to be full

Quick sneaky, lets see where this goes

didn't go too far, then headed home.

good times!

The stuff I got was for flooring, for traction. But the adhesion was bad, not sticky at all but its from china what do you expect. I used rubber cement. Keeps the plastic free from dirt and scratches
