Long Cane Dual Sport Ride near Abbeville, SC

This looks like an easy day trip for all the guys from the SC Shindig thread. I'm planning on attending. Would be neat to hook up with some of the same gang from that trip.

Glad you can make it. Didn't mean to imply that any one else was any less welcome

Headed out to join the Long Cane group today and had a good time. The dual sport ride is tomorrow, but they had a new trail open for riding today. Here's a few shots --

Very cool! Thanks for the pics. I see you didn't take your yellow F650. I was hoping to get a closer look at it

It was great meeting Catalyst and meeting & riding with PropellerHead on Sunday.

Here is PropellerHead with his KLR and its street-biased tires and gearing. Note the fresh Pirelli MT21 front on my ride to his left (along with a fresh Michelin T63 rear). Also, I had been riding with one more tooth on the rear for a while, but also dropped a tooth on the front for this ride, which was a good thing!

Catalyst & PropellerHead:

Catalyst, PropellerHead and Speedy:

We had a great time and would do this ride again.

I knew I was going to be out of my element when I saw all the enduro bikes. I felt like I'd showed up to a black tie event in a clown costume.

Thanks again Laura and Speedy for letting me tag along and waiting up for me. You guys are a class act. Oh, and thanks for letting me use your duct t... uh.. field repair kit for my turn signal.

Nice to meet you all as well. Here are a few more pictures from the event.

Here I am managing to be the only person to get my bike stuck. I was riding alone so I and only managed to get it more stuck trying to get it out myself. After a few minutes another group of riders came through and helped me out.

Stopping by the site of the Long Cane Massacre on the route back after lunch.

It was fun ride - I'll be sure to try some more!

That's right, way to go on those street tires! If you're ever around Augusta and want to try out the F650, let me know!
