Just a sample to whet your appetite - I spend over an hour at this place checking all the bells, gongs, interactive art an' stuff. It wuz kewl.

Finished out the day @ BBQ with some friends (no pics - sorry... NOT)

But couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a couple more to try an' catch the sunset.

*This ~IS~ the PNW... sunshine optional... but get it when you can!

It's almost 2pm, had to do some other stuff earlier, but maybe I can squeek a shorty in before it starts to get colder again... no sunshine today.

This old locomotive has served as a landmark for decades. If'n you stay on the road to the left, it'll take ya' to Mt Rainier via the Nisqually Gate (also in the area, January's SNOWCAMP nearby).

On the approach to Ashford, there's a neat little spot that I've always wanted to stop and check... never did - before.

After all the "Little Pink Houses" stuff I figured I'd better get motorin' up the hill if we were gonna' make it... it was ~5pm (I think) by the time I left there and headed into Mt Rainier National Park... skies were not so ominous here - but it wasn't "warm" either...

Anyways, I forget how much further it was... another ~30 miles or so, I guess, until we hit the end of the road.

They say the snow level will drop to ~3,000 feet tonight, and we'll get snow on the major passes again... Good thing Mr. Nutsy is in a nice warm place.

We made it back home ~8pm or so - I had to break out the toe-warmers (stick 'em to your shirt, helps keep ya' warm) to make it down off the hill, and stopped off for some coffee and a few sessions with the hand-dryer in the can... ~150 miles round trip. HEY! If you're gonna' come to the WetSide, ya' gotta' go to Paradise - I think it's in the r00lz.

Technical Difficulties resolved...

We made it to here that day:

about 20 miles past Mt Angel, to Silver Falls State Park campground. It wasn't bad (I like the place) except for a little rain. :umbrella

dis here is the "South Falls" there's ~10 miles of hiking should you be so inclined... and lemme' tell ya' there's lots of inclines if you go hiking. I slay me.

Nice road though... I'll grant ya' that much. In places... outside of Molalla.

Oh yeah - there's a COUPLE stories about that lil' pile of wood, now, too.
