Thanks for starting this thread!
That is correct. You may not post photos you took before I started the thread.

FB-04 Campaign of Second Manassas

One of the many markers in Marshall. (RocketMan beat me to most of them, but he missed this one!) Note the date on this one: 1928.

FF-7 Mosby's Rangers Disband

Another marker in Marshall, this one near the John Marshall Library on Rectortown Rd, just north of Rt 55.

Mosby's Rangers, also known as the 43rd Battalion Virginia Calvary, were noted for their lightning strikes on Union targets and their ability to consistently elude pursuit. You can read more about Mosby's Rangers here.

Interestingly, the Va Historical Marker database has the Fort Blackwater and Carolina road signs listed, but not the Ferrum College..

I was at a loss also because there was no numbering. Lets not count this in the total unless we come up short, I'll try to do some research.

Mystery Markers

In WV, we found several markers from the same foundry that makes the official state markers (Sewah in Ohio) that appear to be state markers but were actually purchased by private groups or organizations. Perhaps that could be the case with the college marker???

Felix Hull House - Highland County

Located in McDowell, about 10 - 12 miles east of Monterey on Rt 250. Some GREAT riding east and west of here!!

I could not find much about the house except what is on the marker.

Historical Marker located on Rt 250 in McDowell.

Same Marker - Side #2

View westbound on Rt 250. If you look closely, the house is visible through the trees directly above my bike.

Closer view of the house.

Sharp-eyed readers may have noticed I had a passenger on my VA markers trip. Yep, it's Barney. Part of my photo-travelogue today called "Barney's Big Adventure". (soon to be posted on my website) Why Barney? Just to annoy and embarrass my 20-year-old son. He's home for a few days from WVU before summer school starts. We love doing stuff like this to each other. Hey, Barney had a great time and was singing "I Love You" through all the Virginia countryside. He was a little scared, though, when we passed a young boy playing a banjo on his front porch in WV.
