Located at the summit of Shenandoah Mountain, at the Highland County / Augusta County Line on Rt 250.

One of the historic informational signs along the pathway to the Confederate Breastworks.

(Repeat photo - but worth showing twice) Another view from where the fort stood looking westbound from Shenandoah Mountain.

Interpretive trail to the breastworks. Unfortunately, I was behind schedule and chose not to take the 1-mile-roundtrip hike. Maybe next time.

Took about 3 hours tonight with all the stopping and hunting for signs, but they were all on the way to one of my favorite destinations, so I figured I'd get several birds with one trip. Starting from Henrico county, to Goochland and Fluvanna counties..A couple signs were right on the road with no safe pull-off area, so I had to snap and take off quickly, but got as many with the bike as I could.

gonna break it up into a few posts JIC.

Here's Goochland County's courthouse..

bottom of the plaque reads..

ok back to the signs. Goochland Courthouse rated two. Had to do this one quick with all the No Parking signs and county 5-0 around.

and since I'm here already, might as well eat. This is my favorite BBQ place and it has killer Mac&cheese! The owner is a sweet hard-working lady and thankfully she says business is picking up again after a slow spell last year 'cause of the economy.

Here's their mascot..Wish I had an ADV sticker with me to put on the pigs Harley jacket..

Nice homey feel to the place.

Got out for some evening riding tonight and went for some locals.

This one is located in Hamilton, VA at the entrance to Hamilton Park off of Business Rt. 7 at 39.135056,-77.665843.

A block from the last one is the Loudoun County Courthouse at 39.115503,-77.564389.

This is pretty much a walk up sign only. It's right on the corner of 7 & 15, so I couldn't park close.
