Promoter Full Throttle Productions, headed by Tavo Hellmund, has a contract with Formula One to hold races for 10 years starting in November 2012, but those rights have not been transferred to the Circuit of the Americas, officials said in a statement.
“While construction at Circuit of The Americas has progressed as scheduled with over 300 workers at the construction site daily, all work will suspend immediately,” the statement said. “The delivery of the Formula One Grand Prix race contract will allow construction operations to resume.”

I think it's just a technicality, but there are alot of people here that would just love to see it fail.

I cant see them going to all the trouble and expense they have up to this point to throw in the towel over something that basic.

Tavo (Full Throttle Productions) screwed up and had his contract pulled, COTA wants the contract for the race but won't show Bernie sufficient financials. Bernie will pull the plug Dec 7th.

Well that truned into a cluster fuck pretty quick. I can't imagine screwing something up that badly.

It's not over yet. FTP may still have a leg and Red's group too. The builders want to be assured, Bernie wants their money, they will work it out. With or without FTP. Bernie is posturing to try and get them to play it his way.

+1

It may be the usual Bernie & Co shenanigans, but I am a believer on things like this of "It ain't done till it's done."

Pains me to say it but...well....I told ya so

Bernie is a money-grabbing cocksucker and this is par for the course (no pun intended) for him. I'm not even sure the NJ race will be held either.

I started to post something to the effect that all they needed to do was to pay Bernie his fee and the race would go on and I see that ... duh ... that's exactly the problem.

Damn. What a shame.
