Help with a Micatech topbox
Hi,
Bought a full set of Pilot cases & top box for my GS & I love them. However a couple of days ago, I found out that the lock hook doesn't engge with the cut out, in other words it doesn't lock no matter how hard I push down on the lid. Anyone else experienced this and/or have any suggestions on how I could try & fix it? Sending it back is not an option as I'm in Australia. Thanks, DL |

Hey DL,
Hmm.... Any chance you can send over a photo or two? Sometimes the new gaskets can be really stiff, but if you're pressing down with all your might, you should be able to compress it enough to engage the lock. We test every case before it leaves the shop so this should have happened. We're really sorry you're experiencing this. Give us a little more detail and we'll offer some advice.

Thanks for the fast response,
l'll take some pics but I think video would be better as that will show that the lid can be lifted when the hook is in the locked position, but then how to post? I'll look that up elsewhere in the forum & work something out. Thanks again, DL |

Was able to have a good look at the lock this morning (leave for work when its dark & come home the same).
Found that the locking nut was a little loose & the hook had spun a little to the left, easy fix, got it back into position & tigtened it right up. Working like a charm. Fantastic products, really recommend them for anyone who wants well constructed , functional & good looking panniers & top box. Happy Easter, DL |

Great! Sorry again for the inconvenience, but glad to hear it's all sorted. Happy riding and be sure to post pictures of your adventures down under!
We'd love to see them.

These are from the Micatech BMW photo gallery. It looks like we don't have any pictures with the case mounted in the forward position. We'll keep digging and post one if we find it. ![]()
