The Quota is torn apart in the shop now and found 2 things:
a slight film of gear oil on the clutch plates which appears to be from the clutch rod and the clutch arm on the back of the transmission was so tight I could barely move it with my hand. The pin was frozen into the arm and case and wasn't allowing the clutch to fully engage. the plates looked as new but oily. I have been looking at the articles at this old tractor ..thanks

Quota Pipes

Just finishing up an engine swap ( epic failure at 12k) and the exhaust system is definitely a weak link, please let me know how to move forward with you on anew system

Cheers!

I love the bike it does everything I ask of it. It currently is getting some upgrades. Lights, suspension, fuel system mods.
My hobby is creating exhaust systems for the Quota. Done at least 6 different complete systems over the years
If any one needs exhaust parts for the Quota. I can make parts or a complete 2 in to 1 system for the Quota. Guaranteed not to crack. Attached is the current iteration on my bike.

Just curious what was the "epic failure" especially at only 12k. Also here a link on the price sloan exhaust, also on my to do list.

Connecting Rod Bushing (big end) seems to have disintegrated.

Thanks for the link!

Do you still have the old engine? I might be looking for some bits and pieces.

One disc/rota on the front of a Quota

Hi All, I've been lurking for a while on this site. Finally joined.

I have a Quota question. I'm deciding on whether to buy a Quota, only problem I can see from the pics is that there's only one front disc/rota. The seller said it came that way. All the Quotas I've seen have two discs/rotas on the front. Any one come across a similar set up. The forks and other disc/rota caliper check out okay.

Thoughts welcome.

My take is that some previous owner was a dirtbike guy who preferred a single disk up front and removed one.

You don't want mud packing up in there, you know...

All the bikes came from the factory with twin front disk brakes.

Papasloan

Anyone know how to get ahold of papasloan? I need some pipes!

Wasp, I do still have the the original motor, right now I thinking I will do a performance build with it . The quota could use another 30-40 HP.

No buffeting complaints from me, with the barn door Gustaffson(SP?) I had some but with the MRA shorty no complaints.

I'm sure my lardlyness has much to do with it.
