After spending some time in the harley dealer today. Was thinking of upgrading sice i got promoted and got a nice little wage increase.

BUT DAMN the harley i want is either a Dyna FXD super glide (just feels to small an is surprisingly heavy) or a ElectraGlide classic (witch is insanely expensive) the bloody thing cost more than my friggen truck did and i bought that new LOL.

So the bike i want now is the one i own my 08 V-Star silverado 1100. Proble gona send it out to get dyno tuned to dial in the jetting a bit better and just put my money into going to further and better places.

Oh and maybe pick up a old smaller duel sport to mess around with in the dirt too.

I guess today I'm trying to be a little more practical. How about a 120hp V-twin sport tourer (emphasis on sport). MZ 1000 ST, be the only one in town!

Sorry, the MZ isn't a V2, it's a parallel twin ;) Even though it's a great bike.

For me today:

I just bought a 01 Bandit 600, 7K, not a scratch. Love it! I'm a DR650 guy and not use to the RPM's on these things? What are the shifting ranges?

Is that the same MZ company as the one that made this?

My father used to own one before I was born (think 1980-1981).
150cc 2 stroke, about 12hp I believe and 65mph tops!

Suspension and brakes were optional, center of gravity being anywhere
near the center of bike too, and my father didn't get any of those!

After a few mishaps, he traded it in for a guitar amp
Sorry for OT

If it's anything like the newer 650, you've got your maximum power
output around 10k RPMs or just over, and torque probably around 8k.

Considering it's a 4 cylinder bike, it won't mind very low RPMs unlike
your thumper. I'd keep it above 3000 and bare in mind you'll need to
downshift at least one cog to get it moving if you're under half the
available RPMs, but then it'll MOVE.

It's still no revvy bike like the current 600cc 100hp bikes (Hornet/599,
Fazer, etc, the Bandit was also 'tuned for torque').

Long story short, you just downshift if it won't move, and don't have
to worry much about going too low like on a thumper.

Yep, it is. Today they're just building 125s and even those just for a while, maybe.

I can't find a decent pic, but I saw a 2008 Honda VTX 1800F in spec 3 trim yesterday.

That bike is gorgeous! I am surprised it's out of production.

Spent the afternoon on a new R1 with Akras... Dear Lord it sounded amazing...

That "crossplane crankshaft" business is NOT hype. Holy cow. It pulled everywhere.

And I never thought a 4 cylinder bike could sound that good.
