I don't know that the want for this one will ever go away until I own one and finally come to the realization that there is no way i can handle a 400lb 100HP dirt bike, but I'll be happy

I have a need for another bike, I just don't know what it is yet. I know it needs to be comfortable enough to fit me and the wife comfortably - I'm a freaking ogre and she's by no means petite. And it needs to be cheap cheap cheap. I'm thinking older Goldwing.

I won't post a picture of a scooter today, don't worry, sheesh.. some
of you guys are touchy! (looks around for Tacoma!)

I recently had a ride on a CBR1000/Fireblade, and even if I could never live
with ergos like that, I coud live with the Fazer 1000:

I really don't want a Kawasaki again, but the Z100SX (Ninja 1000) makes
a lot of sense too:

..and last but not least, I'll probably never get over the fact that a Ducati
1000 Supersport DS got away from me with 1500 miles and at half the
price.

1996 vfr750

Today, I want this VFR750 -- I pick it up on Sunday! I'd love to have a VFR400, as I like light, fun bikes, but they never imported them. This particular bike, I'm buying from a friend, who gave me a too-good-to-refuse price on it. It rides a lot lighter than it is. I'm he'll be getting right-of-first-refusal, should I sell it later.

The '94-'97 VFR750 is arguably the best of the VFR's. Sure, I'd like if it had fuel injection like the VFR800 that followed, but don't want or need the complexity and extra weight of the Vtec (variable valve timing) system.

Honda CB1

I think the CB1, with it's high-reving 400cc 4 cylinder, and light weight would be a very fun bike. If a nice one ever comes up for sale near me, I'm gonna buy it (so long as the price isn't outrageous). As I said in the above post (VFR), I like light, good handling bikes. This fits the bill nicely. I have a lot of fun on my '90 VTR250, and the CB1 makes almost twice the power, and isn't much heavier.

Honda CB600F Hornet

Although I'd be happy with the 60 HP of the CB1, the 600cc Hornets are a little more plentiful. They don't really weigh any more than the CB1, so it fits my desire for a light bike. With 98 HP on tap, I won't need to twist the wick the whole way open to have fun -- but just might sometimes anyway, just because .

Sadly, Honda stopped importing these to the US a few years ago, but the ones that are hear are still young enough that I should be able to find a decent one used.

Since you like fun, light weight bikes you should check out a Triumph Street Triple.

It's already on my short list. Preowned ones are still priced quite high, and I don't (yet) have the cash for a new one.

See my posted #1834.
