I like the Triumph Rocket 3, just not sure I would want to live with something THAT big day after day. Suzuki? Well I have sworn off Suzuki's, but to be honest, the M109R SE really blows my skirt up. I have heard of lots of people having clutch problems with them, and I doubt Mrs. B. would like it.

Like I said, I like the styliing of the Honda VTX1800 line. Never heard an owner say one bad word about them, other than they can be a bit thirsty (true of all big cruisers, right?). And they're Hondas. They should last forever, and blow my buddy's $45,000 Harley into the weeds. And that's important!

and then there is this. It was one of the first RR's I read when I started hanging around here, and it has really stuck with me. This guy took an old fashioned overweight out of production Honda for one heckuva ride.
you really seem to have found your unicorn then just ride the snot out of it, don't let it sit!

Wow! I have a very nice example in my garage right now! '76 model... looks just like the top one in the pic above.

I never ride it though and it just sits collecting dust in the corner of my garage... maybe I should make it a winter project to go through it and put it back on the road next spring... or maybe just pass it on along to someone that would enjoy it more... hmmmm

Yes it went to a new home about a year ago. I loved having it and regret having to sell it but I couldn't afford to have it as a second bike and as an 'only bike' it was too focused. If I had access to a good suspension shop in Portugal I might have kept it. The exclusivity of the HP is a big attraction, so much so I Uhmmed and Ahhed a long time between getting the multi and a lovely used HP sport. But the deal I have in getting the multi was just too tempting.

After riding to a event last weekend, I spotted a KTM Super Duke. While the stock version is certainly a pleasure to view, at my age I really wish KTM offered a Gentleman's version, perhaps 2" longer in WB, softer sprung and de-tuned a bit with perhaps 10-15 less HP. Everything else is fine in my eyes.
