the latest incarnation (2011 and on) of the ninja 1000 has always been FI. ABS? been riding over 100 years without it. what's a few more.

you may be thinking of the 250R replacement, the ninja 300 it's the one that recently got FI & optional ABS in all markets, where the 250R had FI pretty much everywhere but in the USA for the past few years.

The difference is the color. Don't want the black/silver or black/green. Not liking the color combo has been what has held me from pulling the trigger since they came out in 2011. Im NOT going to drop $10K + on anything and wish it was something different. I'm REALLY digging the white/black (AND, it has ALL black frame/swing arm/etc that no other N1K has had to this point). And I do not want a bike with ABS.

Great bike? Maybe... all of my European friends who have ridden it have declared (and I quote) "one of the worst bikes ever." MCN seems to agree:

True, I have a friend that had one and said the bloody thing was always trying to kill him it handled so bad. And that was in a straight line .
