What is it? Looks like a Versys Supermoto.

Aprilia Pegaso, can't remember if that version has the Yamaha 660 motor or the BWM/Rotax 650.

Aprilia Pegaso Strada/Factory, 2006+

There's also a "normal" Strada with a few parts of lesser quality, but
also 17" wheels, and a Trail version with 19" and 17" wheels.

The Factory has 2kg (3lbs+) less, better front brake, some carbon bits,
wider bars, higher seat, and spoked wheels.

It's using the engine from the XT660R / XT660X / XTZ600 (Tenere) and
MT03, but is lighter then all of them (about 360lbs dry).

I could live with it!
Doesn't have to be the Factory even, the "ordinary" would do.

All this NC700X and CB500 talk got me thinking how this thing
has the exact same power output as those two.. and over 100lbs
less then the NC700X!

Dreadful shame it never came to the States, as this is pretty much exactly what I want these days.

Had my eye on one of these for the past year. The guy I bought my Monster from has one and I told him that I wanted first dibs on the Husaberg when he was ready to sell. Just got an email letting me know that he's ready to sell.

I've got a week to get my story figured out for when the wife notices the new garage urchin.

The previous version Pegaso Cube (?) was sold in the US. You can still find a few on Craigslist. It's got the BMW/ Rotax engine in it. And better suspension than the BMW F650.

Minus the frequent quality control issues well documented on AF1 forums.
You actually want the MT03, that's the pick of the bunch.

XT660R and X had massive surging complaints.

This (newer) Pegaso has suspension and brakes a class above er6n/650R
from what I understand, especially the Factory version, and they cost
about the same.

Sure, it's down on power, but probably just as fast when you roll on the
torque from 30 to 70mph.

I remember the 0-60 figure being quoted at 5 seconds, the 650R is
around 4. 5 is great and a lot faster then the NC700X still.

I sat on one of them at a dealership during a trip to Europe. I would have loved to take it for a spin. I love that design. Not as light as a G650X Moto though... That's one bike I should have never sold.

Haven't been keeping up with such things in a while, but damn, that engine looks strange! Almost a horizontal cylinder, and the gearbox mounted under the crank? I wonder what the high crank position and rotating mass does to handling... Are there any real advantages to such an unorthodox engine layout (other than the straight shot downdraft intake tract), or is it just different for the sake of being different?

It actually looks like the cylinder is reversed and the engine is flipped and rotated almost 90*...
