I'm lusting for a 2014 R1200GSA.

Way out of my price range though. And overkill for what I do with a bike. But man. That thing makes we want to hop on and explore the world.

It looks like Yamaha may have already stolen the best bang for your buck sporty ride segment with the new FZ09 and or maybe the FZ07 though. Suzuki had that, hands down, for over a decade with the SV.

i dun get the gladius hate (obviously) -- it's still an sv650 mill, with the riding experience largely intact right down to the shitty rear suspension and notchy low speed fueling! i mean, it's not like you're stuck with the og melty headlight and batmobile radiator cowls if you don't want 'em!

Why don't we have those in the US? Do any of you inmates in other countries have experience with this bike? If so, tell me about it, allow me to live vicariously through your experiences please...

Actually the mill is better, and so is fueling.
I haven't ridden them enough to compare suspension.

The problem people have with it is it's first name (it's now just the SVF650),
and the crazy colors/ads it came out with. There is absolutely nothing
wrong with it and it's a better bike then the SV650 without a doubt.

Don't know prices around the world tho, but here it was A LOT MORE EXPENSIVE
then the SV650 and that's the only reason sales were low. Both the Bandit 650
naked, Bandit 650S and GSX650F were cheaper then the Gladius here in EU and
most people would rather have a "classic" 4 cyl bike, be it naked or fully faired,
it doesn't matter.

I love twins, but I'd also pick the naked Bandit out of this bunch.

For me, its the styling and the extra 50 lbs. Seems they went away from some nice cast AL items to cheap steel weldments. Really strange rear peg brackets too. Overall just killed what was a light weight and simple sport bike.

Also, my SV has no fueling issues. I actually wanted crisper response so I removed the secondaries. Most peoples complaints about throttle snatchiness on bikes I have ridden is more about poor throttle control by the rider. It did have crappy suspension though!

thread hijack over....sorry.

i dunno, i adjusted the voltage for a lower rpm setting on the throttle position sensor on my gladius, and the "notchiness" cleared right up. but yeah, you just kept the throttle close under 3.4k gentle and it was fine. the fix was bloody easy nonetheless and seemed to have no impact on overall mpg.

From memory that was a Japan domestic model only, Although a few were sent to New Zealand to get rid of unsold stock. Softer than they look and something less than 100hp. Did contemplate Buying one but the garage was a bit over full at the time (said she who must be obeyed).
