old, british, and very rare. nobody's gonna be able to help you work on it, and parts that aren't custom built will be harder to find than an honest politician. nevermind i am complete shit with carburetors. i dislike carbs nearly as much as i dislike two-smoke engines.

i agree, 16.5k for a bonnie is frakkin' nuts. hence why i have a base bonnie and i'm riding the nuts off of it :-)

i absolutely despise "special edition" bikes, like the steve mcqueen edition of the bonnie they just put out. it's retarded. they change the paint, change out the headlight and seat with other stock components, and call it custom? more like parts-bin custom. then they overcharge you. no thanks. i just can't justify the price hike at all, unless it's that stupid, vain, exclusivity thing. some people. oh dear.
My point was/is, Maybe ya ought to know what ya are ranting on about before ya do. The post was about a special bike, not a base bonny. This whole thread is really about special bikes folks drool over. If you droll over base bikes fine (kinda boring) . As for your rant on Norton, they have started building new modern bikes with fuel injection that will run circles around a Bonny for less than $16.5k. http://www.nortonmotorcycles.com/bikes/ Sure, not mainstream but nice bike and Waaay kool! Again get a clue

cheapest one on that site is 13,250GBP, not USD. with exchange rates, it may as well be $20,000. ouchie. while you are right that I flew off the handle about nortons, i still struggle to lust over them. i'm not sure why. o well, you say tomAto, i say tomato. ride 'em 'till they blow up! don't let 'em sit in disuse!

Seen the 2012?

I remember when the ER6N and F (650R) first came out, and when I bought
mine (F/650R) i 2007 that I hated the looks of the first gen 'N'.

2nd gen the 650R went more sporty, was ok, the N got a lot better but they
screwed up the dash with a digital rev counter and analogue tach

and now.. 3rd gen.. I absolutely LOVE the 'N' and would buy it over the faired version in a heard beat

Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot my bike of the day.

Let's see. It's rather cold outside, and I don't like wearing 16 layers of clothing
so It would be this:

W/ heated grips please.

Word is we're not getting it in the US this time, just the redesigned F with the 3-position screen and whatnot.

I really want a Street Triple, but given the price difference, the crappy roads here and my love for that motor, I think I'd have a lot of fun on an ER-6. I'd even gear it lower for more ridiculous thrust around town. I've also heard that the Versys 5-gal tank fits on the early models...

Pity Triumph doesn't have the Orange StripleR in their line-up anymore.
Still the best looking of them all
