Thanks and will do on both counts. I know the Versys is very different to the RR but on the test ride it felt 'right' in spite of it having far less power and, some might say, kudos. Still like those Stelvios though.....

Edit: by the way, the 955i and 1150GS were on my long-ish shortlist.

Love the SMT too, and of course the ever present MG Griso.

Hey Ray... If there was an MG dealer within 200 miles of me, I'd be all over a Griso.

I think I would have been happy with any of them, tbh, but it came down to the best deal on the day; I got an '01 GS that is still 500 below 'book' price. Mind you, it's not that cheap to run

I just love that bike. Nothing like it anywhere else, really.

Regarding your KTM I can only drool at the power-to-weight for a single cyclinder bike. I owned a Suzuki DR800 and that was great, I can only imagine how that KaToom flies round twisty roads.

My most recent dream bike was an '03 Aprilia Mille R, but then I went to a Triumph demo day on Friday and a KTM one a few weeks before. I got to ride some great bikes, KTM 690 singles and 990 twins, Triumph 1050 and 675 triples. Really liked the 690 Duke, Super Duke, Street Triple, and Speed Triple.

But I lust after this:

That 675 triple is the most engaging and exciting engine I've ever experienced. I've ridden a bunch of inline 4s, v4s, twins, and singles. The 1050 triple was great, too, a torque monster but I like engines that can rev a bit more (redline was at least 3000 rpm higher on the smaller engine). I was laughing in my helmet the whole time I was on the bike. Effortless power, telepathic handling, stone-wall brakes, light weight, and the sound... bike heaven.

Except for the riding position. But going by the title of the thread I'm sure I could handle it for a day. Longer than that I'd go with a Street Triple R and an Arrow pipe and settle in for a nice long-term relationship.

I want a new FJR1300, every day. Wore mine out, and miss it. It took me for many great rides.

I consider it amazing to know someone that knows someone that owns one..... Those things defined expensive!

Today's want: MMMMHMMMMM

If I woke up tomorrow morning terminally ill, I would find a way to ride this bike flat out at Barber's. I'd probably die, but it would be a very nice death in comparison to withering away to nothing.

Meet the RS3 Cube. 3 cylinders. Pneumatic valves. Formula 1 technology throughout the motor. 225 RWHP+++ ...... Very hard to ride, terrifying even.

My fantasy bike of late is an older (15yr+) Africa Twin. I say older because I think that's the only way I could import one into Canada. Maybe it's the thrill of the chase that's got me.

Same here really. 0% finance on the V and good part-ex swung it. Plus, as I said before, I managed to get a decent test ride on it. Off to pick it up in an hour.

Only 2 were built, I'll never ride one but I sure would want it, just even for 10 minutes.
