I have really been lusting after an XL1200R lately. I never gave sporties much of a look but this roadster is old-school cool!

The first "big" bike I rode was a Sportster back in 1964ish. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for them, so I took one for a test ride at the Long Beach IMS

I really wanted to like that bike, but alas I didn't. I guess I've gotten used to my creature comforts. I was not comfortable on it at all - shook, rattled (and not in an Italian bike kind of way), hard seat, ergos that no longer really worked for me. *sigh* I really wanted to like that bike.

New Year; New Tickets

This may sound crazy, but I'm contemplating trading my 1125r for an xb12s.... Many reasons!

That is why I am looking at the "R" rather than the "N" which does look better, imo. The R comes with Standard seating position and a it is taller than most sportsters therefore has more clearance. I have read if you replace the stock shocks with progressive 401's or cheaper and better yet used Roadking shocks it provides a much better ride. As far as the "shake" goes, I enjoy riding my Harley so the vibes doesn't bother me one bit. I think I would like a Guzzi as well and have lusted more than once after your Norge! Hmmm...maybe I need to add another bike to my wish list?

Unless you're doing a lot of track days, I could see the appeal in a trade like that.
