Wingspan- never seen a Katana with a solo cowl before. It REALLY improves the looks, IMHO.

Thanks. I thought it was an improvement. The cowl was from Airtech, a fiberglass copy of the rarely seen Suzuki accessory part.

I liked the old kat. It was pretty comfy, got decent mileage, and was cheep. 2k for my old 94 600 with 10k on the clock.

Whoever stole my bike made off with the wheels as well. They didn't get a single one of the carbs though.

Yep, I have a '82 1000 had it since '87 with only 1200 miles on the clock. I put about 30k more on it and this is how it sat back in 2002. It has been at my Dad's shop for about 2 years now sitting in the corner covered in dust. I know it is sad. It was running back then and will run today as soon as a I put a battery in it. Cool bikes to look at but not very fun to ride. I even have the black chrome original pipes 4 into 2. Pitted a little but not bad considering the age.

As one of the bikes that stirs lust in my heart, what makes it less than fun to ride?

Sorry if it's a dopey question--I've always liked the bikes, just don't know much about their flaws.

Thanks

My 2001 750cc. It's a great bike, fun to ride, smooth, fast enough for me, handles great, good brakes.

I think Katanas only appeal to a select few My dealer had couple of them setting on his floor for what seemed like forever...one them is still there after at least five years and the other was sold to an older guy just recently.
