Nuvi 500/550 Plug

Not sure if this is the right place for this...

I have a Nuvi 550 and the plug which seals the mini-usb connection fell off the unit somewhere. I emailed Garmin and received a less-than-satisfactory response that the part cannot be ordered- of course making the unit essentially useless on a motorcycle.

Anyone have any ideas?

Don't have any brilliant ideas except to say that the mini-USB connector is a standard one, so there may be rubber plugs for other devices that may fit

Sigh. This may be a call to a Garmin manager. No plug= no waterproof. No waterproof= useless on a bike.

I run the 550 off the usb hooked to my bike battery and that rubber boot gets set aside anyway, I've had it in torrential downpours without any problems.

My Garmin cable did not come with a seal. I found these caps/plus which may work but I have not tried them.

It looks like a plug but may work as a cap. Or cut it to make a seal. Shipping will cost more than one set.

Faith restored

Thanks, guys!

Looks like Garmin came through after a stronger-worded email, and are sending it this week.
