Denver to Los Angeles and back

Hey All, I have about two weeks to complete the trip. Hopefully a few days to spend on the beach. I am looking for suggestions on the best route to get from Denver to Lake Tahoe. Nevada seems like a long straight boring windy ride. Anything better than I80 to get across Nevada?

You want to hit SW CO and southern UT going to Los Angeles, whether you like dirt or pavement, or both.
Go get some decent maps, zoom out wider, and see it.

I-70 to US-50
US-50 goes through South Tahoe.
