Jesses bags are tight (35.5") and forward, Gobi topbox (capitalcycle.com) is mounted between them on rails to allow change of position by sliding front to back. In order to keep it low and still have clearance enough to open the Jesse lids, it needs to be turned sideways from the usual mounting position. This is a better solution than either mounting it high or hanging it off the rear rack. There is still enough room on the Altrider rear rack for a medium duffle.

You might notice no space under the rear tyre - that's due to the Wasp Works 25mm raising links - I haven't welded on the centerstand extensions yet. A few more small things like that to do, but I think I'm mostly set!

I think it mostly depends on how tall you are. I'm 1.82m and can ride at 120km/h on the freeway with my helmet open.
It does cause some buffeting with the stock screen. But that's only at speeds above 100km/h.

Installation is very easy. Just tighten some small nuts till they touch your screen. After that you can put it on and off by opening and closing the metal mount.

Not if you have to replace them after a drop. I was just about to order teh SW Motech bars, but this is the 2nd report of them bending in a relatively easy fall-over.
Would appreciate other suggestions for crash bars. Hope I never need them, but if I do, I don't want to have to replace them each time...

Pssst - There's somebody following you.

Here's another way. Look beneath the wheel sprocket and you can see the arms of the carrier. The pedal is a lot further from the ground than it looks.
