Very stately looking crews you ride with, a wealth of experience, excellent photos.

("stately looking crews" code for "bunch of old guys")

("wealth of experience" code for "lots and lots of crashes")

("excellent photos" code for "you guys rock")

Adventure On

ps. Goldie its hard not to smile isn't it? Have a safe trip home

It should be fun. What was the dealer doing having that bike sitting around so long?

Waiting for the replacement speedo to put it back to zero miles.

Oh, and nice choice of color.

Crappy cell pics, but finally got the Tenere a bit dirty today. And 2-up at that! Loved it.

Definitely time to add some protection.

This is cruiser country. I probably see 90% cruisers, 7% supersports and 3% other most of which being old UJMs. I have seen maybe 3 adv bikes that weren't on a trip in town, and they were all BMWs. The dealer also has a white V-strom 650, a '11 model I think for at least a year. They just don't move in this town, which is great for me.

Thanks, I've put 80 miles on it today, and man, is it hard to take it easy on this thing. 1000 miles can't come fast enough so I can finally open it up.

I also couldn't take the temptation anymore, and took it on its first dirt road with 47 miles on the clock.

Hey there, Cykel...

Where is that bridge? I swear I've seen it, and been there, before (I live in South Texas). Just can't remember where I've seen it.

Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Dallara

Don't be surprised if it doesn't want to shift down, especially to the lowest gears & neutral. Up shifts will be OK & it'll be like you bent a shift fork.
The fix is to clean the silty crud out of the pivot points for the shifter & re-lube it.
Yes, learned the hard way...

And it was inevitable, I finally dropped the thing:

It was a very steep and rocky down hill (I'm standing on the down hill side) and I actually aborted the plan and was turning around when I lost my footing. I caught the bike mid fall, but couldn't right it (as I was on the downhill side) so I gently laid it down to readjust my position. It was a pretty incredible feat of strength (think mother lifting car off of child) for my 130 pound self to lift it up when it fell towards the downhill, but I got her up, and inspected to find not a scratch. Very cool!
(Usual checks; fan spins free, shifter untouched, clutch untouched, etc)

Found a new powerline area:

And a thorough inspection upon arriving home revealed not a scratch on the plastic 'skid plate', or the sump, or anything vital, but some major dings in both the header pipes!

Like I said, I will be toning it down till I get a plate (and tires). It's so fun... but no... I shall resist.... I shall resist.... I shall resist.....
You got off easy my friend!! Nice save. We should ride sometime. I'm also in CBUS. PM me sometime you're out and about!

True, it was -22f with a 30-40 kt wind when I was there in February.

It's a beautiful State any time that you have good enough weather to see something.
